Blazers send out Nas, Ant, #23 and 2026 pick (removing protections on 2024 pick) for Caruso and DeRo. Blazers keep #3 and pick up Dame’s friend DeRo.

    Opening night (could swap Caruso/Thybulle):

    Dame / Caruso

    Thybulle / Sharpe

    DeRo / Brandon Miller

    Grant / <TPE + 2nds big>

    Nurkic / <TPMLE center>

I’d imagine later in the season you’d start to see Sharpe and Miller’s minutes tick up.

This is an overpay but you split the timelines and use the #3 pick in a great draft. If you disagree with this deal, let me know what your amendments would be.

I just don’t want Demar on the Portland Trail Blazers, personally speaking

This is a more realistic trade than what gets posted online.

I’m guessing this also solves Portland’s problem with trading future 1sts now that the Bulls get their pick.

Now, I do wonder if there was a way to do a three way trade and send Derozan to the Clippers and get Paul George, instead.

If we want DeMar we can probably just deal Ant for him without much else.

DeMar’s value isn’t very high but he’s a much better player than fans give him credit for. He would solve a lot of our ball handling/shot creation issues in Dame-less minutes.

  5. I don’t hate it but I only consider this if I have a second move lined up with the #3. Because this is clearly a big “win now” trade, but DD isn’t enough to make us contenders.

  6. It’s okay, not great, but only if we have other moves lined up.

I would rather just keep Simons lol giving all that up for Derozan’s fake star ass sounds insane.

This is ok but the bulls have said they aren’t moving on from Derozan or Lavine this off-season

Using assets to acquire a poor defender for a team that needs to improve drastically on that end is…interesting

Throw in Drummond too and it’s a good deal. I don’t relish the thought of trading 2 FRPs and 2 young players for 3 30+ year old dudes but they do fit the team’s needs better than Ant and Nas do. Maybe turn that 2026 1st into a couple 2nds.

Alternatively call up Sac and see if they want to let Richaun Holmes go. I think the money would still work.

  11. While I think Demar would be perfect next to dame, this is way too much for considering age

  12. tardwash

I don’t hate it, but it’s not happening.

No. DeMar is too old and too expensive and he’s bad on defense.

  14. abstract_contact

No shot we get Demar and Caruso for that. Caruso is all defense.

This might be the first trade proposal I’ve seen this offseason that a) makes some sense for both sides, b) doesn’t wildly overvalue our players, and c) affords us some amount of flexibility moving forward. Props.

Nah I don’t like this trade like at all. We’re giving up Scoot Henderson or Brandon Miller for DeRozan and Caruso? Henderson and Miller would both be on rookie contracts too.

Then, we’re also giving up Simons and a 2026 first. Nah, this deal is straight up awful for the Blazers.

DeRozan is about to turn 34 years old in 2 months. Yeah bro, I’m good on this trade.
