Flopping NEEDS to be abolished. It’ll be interesting to see how; if the refs are already being fooled by flops, would be interesting to see how they could implement this without adding another layer of bad calls. Imagine a technical foul on curry for ‘flopping’ because he always falls when he lands. I can see this going good/bad
The NBA’s Competition Committee is considering penalizing flops with a technical foul free throw, per @ShamsCharania

Refs have been somewhat correcting flops by calling tictacky calls on the other end after realizing they fell for a flop. Techs will be better because the 3 refs can come together and correct the ref who had a bad angle.
Hoping this is a good solution and games aren’t decided by 100 FTs gifted to the team willing to act more.
A lot of floppers are so good that its difficult to identify flops during a game.
A technical foul when caught during the game sounds great, but I think there should also be 1-game suspensions assessed for flops that aren’t identified until further review after the game.
Here are some FIBA Flop technicals for reference. Some of them aren’t too obvious at all. Gonna be interesting to see what the NBA will tolerate or call a flop. [Fiba Flops](https://youtu.be/QBcTsu3ffCE)
What is there to consider???? Flopping is pretty much cheating. It ruins the game. If the refs don’t catch it in the moment they should fine the player after the replay. I think it’s pretty simple.
exaggerating contact is ok in my book (or else big men would never get fouls), but straight up lying about contact should be penalized
Call it a Schröder 1 a tech & a Schröder 2 you clean up your own flop sweat off the floor
They [tried in 2012](https://official.nba.com/explanation-of-anti-flopping-rule/), (fines) and clearly the refs forgot about the rule. But they failed to realize that the fine is negligible for star players as they make millions.
Maybe I just don’t understand why this is difficult. If your a ref and see a foul call it, if you don’t see a foul but see someone reacting then you don’t call it.
That’s why there’s three on the court to see it occur.

Good, if I wanted to watch soccer, I would.
This would be a huge buff for us. Last season when they cracked down on calls PPG was down across the board, except for Steph who still averaged near 30. Silver can’t have that
R.I.P. most players ppg%
One can only hope.
Nice. They’re going to consider enforcing a rule that was implemented and forgotten again, only to enforce and forget yet again.
FINALLY! let’s just go ahead and call this new rule (if they ever actually implement one) the “Laker Rule”.
I love how they waited until the lakers were eliminated to announce this
I hope they do this. I’m not sure fining would be a big enough penalty, but maybe a suspension or even minutes-limited. I don’t know, but something has to happen. It’s way out of hand.
NBA is turning into soccer with all the flopping. Something needs to be done about it, sure, but it’s going to be very difficult to pinpoint during a game.
Jordan had his rules, now LeBron got his!
Add a flop ref upstairs to turn on a “play on” light to overturn a call as necessary and keep the game flowing.
make them play 4-on-5 for two minutes
Please!
