Pelicans and denver also drafted well.
I understand his argument but you have to admire the bitter irony of the NBA being pretty much the only entity in American society that is trying to do something about income inequality😂
I'm not really buying the logic that cap relief will cause all the players to be overpaid. All the cap problems are caused by players having max contracts so the only real question is – will too many players get max contracts?- I'm a little doubtful.
You should have brought up the other end of the cap situation — teams, like the Spurs giving away their best player and all-star dejounte for literally nothing just so they can tank for a lottery pick. Doesn't all this cap stuff cause teams to shamefully tank just so they can collect their social security checks from the owners who aren't cheap? I'm thinking that throwing away good players just to keep under the cap is probably worse for the league than every team actually trying to field competitive rosters even if they aren't going to win the title.
Also, even if the players somehow become overpaid and the cap lowers I don't think that's some kind of big disaster, or not as big of a disaster as watching the Spurs play the last couple of years.
The whole point, again, of the "luxury tax" is to artificially lower salaries. To pay players less. It, in spite of how it is sold to simpletons, has NOTHING to do with ostensibly creating parity within the league. If one understands this, then one would never ask a foolish question as the first one posed in this segment. Owners don't want to "give" themselves loopholes to be able to maintain high salaries, because FUNDAMENTALLY they wan't low salaries. Across the board. This is the FUNDAMENTAL driving reason for the very existence of the "luxury tax." This so-called "luxury tax," which only benefits the owners, which the owners forced down the players' gullets, which the players had fought tooth-and-nail against, which only hurts the players.
Not only is this guy making a BS argument, he’s not even articulating his point very well. Everything he’s saying is nonsense. Please don’t bring him back to discuss the salary cap. He clearly doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about.
That rule is totally biased. It’s not their fault that they have an amazing gm. So in short, they really rewarding teams that don’t want to spend money in order to compete and it’s unfair for the player that actually put the work in; and get paid less of the value. The nba is making it to where tanking is okay and eventually in the long run, ratings are going to plummet and then they’ll have to change the rules again. They only put that rule in affect because ticket sales are down because of the load management, which is an issue itself. Don’t punish teams because a few players in the league take advantage of it.
They're handicapping thr warriors from succeeding but it will happen anyway.
omg, your guest was a stuttering fool. hate listening to him speak. he should just be a writer.
