As long as injuries dont happen, he may end up being one of the best prospects. Im not gonna say hes the best, too many variables at play here. But he may end up being one of the best.
In San Antonio, he'll be shielded by the community and the team. He'll be allowed to grow and flourish with Pop and his coaching crew. People underestimate Pop's coaching crew. The biggest obstacle to success is how the kid and Pop bond and how Wembanyama responds to coaching.
They need to relax. There is a difference between prospect and overall player…
Just because lebron turned out the way he did it didn’t mean they he was a more hyped prospect or a had a higher ceiling.
Prospect is a term to reflect potential.
He needs to stay healthy and have a commitment to excellence. If both things happen, he'll be a top-10 talent of all time, regardless of team success- ala Kevin Durant.

LeBron was definitely one of the greatest prospects also because of his size, 6'8 250, as a high schooler. Wemby is 7'5, great shooter, dribbles, agile, both LeBron and him are just out of this world prospects. I mean, Wemby would've done the same damage in high school as LeBron, no matter where at.

Wemby is absolutely a better prospect than Lebron was. Lebron was playing high-schoolers, Wemby's been playing against pro's for the past 4 years. He's 8-9 inches taller, has better shooting, defense, and has the league streaming his games in France. So yeah, he's more hyped, and he's the better prospect. It doesn't mean he will end up the better player, but I'm with Richard Jefferson when he says that if Wemby and Lebron were in the same draft, Lebron would have gone second.

Well I'm not so sure about that Rich. Shaq can say that because he was the biggest son-of-a-gun in the NBA through most of his career. But Tim Duncan usually mastered him because the way he played Duncan wasn't a banger the way Shaq was.
That San Antonio community/fanbase will push him into greatness. They'll embrace him as one of their own like they did with Robinson, Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, and so many others. It really all comes down to him staying healthy.
If Victor had grown up in Ohio he would’ve been more hyped and we wouldn’t think “greatest prospect in team sports” line was crazy
7'5" with guard skills. 19 years old and already in a pro league. That's all you need to know. Yes that is the greatest prospect of all-time. Ohio will produce another 6'8" kid.

This hype is stratospheric, and very dangerous. Pop is is an old school shout, in your face, angry coach. Wemby is a young gen z player. That won't work. Wemby is super skinny. He's 8 foot 100 inches tall, and if he can't put un muscle, forget it. Greatest prospect in history? Nope. A great prospect? Definitely.
Shaq shot it straight from the hip and is correct. If you are 7 feet 280 there is no one out there your size to guard you. Jokic can shoot, but he plays big and is extremely effective.
