Victor Wembanyama is untouchable and the Spurs should not trade him, no matter what the offer is. Victor Wembanyama is San Antonio's next franchise player and will be leading the Spurs in the next era of Spurs basketball. Beyond this, there is nothing to be said.
If the Thunder wanted to trade Chet Holmgren to the Spurs for Victor Wembanyama, then the Spurs need to decline that trade, even if the Thunder decide to include picks along with Chet Holmgren. Victor Wembanyama is better and more valuable than Chet Holmgren and will be the Spurs' next great franchise player in the future. Spurs should not trade him and should keep him in San Antonio no matter what.
It is very insulting. Why would we trade him for someone who isn't as good and picks to try to get a chance to find someone as good as him? We have him and will be building around him.

The only problem is I doubt OKC will make this sacrifice.
I think the reasons for why NBA is pushing stories like this.
1st reason – Is Spurs is a small market with a successful past. Business wise, you would want him in a large market.
2nd reason – Spurs developmental of players benefits the NBA as a whole. To keep it short, if Spurs lose a lot their development players will leave and help boost other organizations that missing pieces to compete for playoffs or titles. Spurs turn Tony and Maun who are late picks to hall of famers. Extended Richard Jefferson career which benefitted Lebron (Cavs). He extended Steven Jackson career. Kawhi Leonard left and won a championship and able to get to play in or play offs. Danny Green was a key part for Raptors and Lakers. Greg Hill has been a great role player for teams in need of leadership and a spark. Demar Derozan improved with passing with Spurs. Poeltl's game change for better. Derek White and Murray are in teams that benefit from them since day 1.
If Spurs keep pushing back and losing what teams would not want KJ, Devin, or Collins. Media wants us to trade KJ to the blazers for pick. Spurs help create nba ready players or develop their game further for other organizations.
On another note, the Miami Heat should be renamed to the Miami Chokers
Even if they did trade wemby they could get way more, they could prolly get Embid or a haul of young players and 9 first, but even that wouldn’t be worth it

Spurs are not that dumb. They are not trading Victor. What they will do is trade for assets to surround around Victor. I would consider moving up in the draft and maybe have a package around Vassell or Keldon since they both play almost the same positions. The package would consist of adding Devonte Graham, and some future firsts. Maybe you can get the Portland pick, or get a good player that can help in their position. Get a center so Victor can play the 4, and get a point guard. I hate to say this look into Dlo he would be a perfect fit, someone to develop their game and get redemption. Van Vleet is even better. I would pay attention to the Timberwolves situation. Rudy G had some drama there. Maybe pair him with Victor but I would hate to absorb that contract for Rudy G. But if pairing him with a center who will take the Jokics, AD, Embids. Then do it, or the cheaper route get Ayton. He knows the system from playing for Phoenix. So many possibilities. The boring spurs will not be boring anymore. You can do so much with them team. Sochan can play a 3 if his shot would develop, put Victor at the 4, and upgrade Center at the 5. Vassell or Keldon at the 2, for now Tre jones at the 1. You could now install a 2-3 matchup zone – Victor would take half of the court away. What I am concerned about is what to do with Keldon and Vassell they are starters. You could go small and Victor play the 5 but I feel his body isn’t meant to bang right now against a Jokic, and Embid. I would play him at the 4 and Sochan could defend the 5 but what Sochan can’t do well is shoot 3s in which you want that for a small forward. Again decisions need to be made with Keldon and Vassell. I would keep Vassell and trade Keldon with those first round picks and get a good player or potential 1st rounder this year. Scoot or Amen Thompson would be nice.
