Giannis still #1 IMO. His defensive impact is just too much to ignore. Also his 50pt title clinching game is a better performance than Jokic has ever had

There has been a lot of r/NBA content out of Lillard’s social media the past few days. He should join that Windhorst podcast where all the NBA chuckleheads go.

Yeah you gotta give it to him. I was always against when everyone was saying Giannis was cause of how much disrespect he gets from defenders and just having so many weaknesses in his game.
But Joker gets respect from all three levels. Plus doubling him is probably the worst version of the two poisons cause of his height and instinct. He’s the best passer in the league, not even at his position just the best. If let him do what he does no double he’s probably giving you 45-15-12. Just an absolute nightmare to prepare for. No weaknesses in his game you just have to hope he misses
ok_heh
it’s gonna take a long ass time for anyone to catch on and up to what Jokic is doing
he’s not athletic but he’s really powerful, and using his lower body to propel energy up to his hands and fire off all sorts of passes, shots, and grab rebounds
a cannon also doesn’t need to move and rotate a lot since it’s generating a ton of explosive power then shooting it out
everyone else is dancing and cutting and he’s just playing volleyball

Dame and Spida always have good things to say about Yoke. Big Honey is definitely, 100 purrcent, the best hooper on planet earth right now.

Jokic can become just as dominant as Shaq or Steph on their primes. If the FO is at the least decent and surround him with capable dudes he’ll win multiple times this decade
pika_pie
I don’t think it’s a contest at this point.
A nuance I see often dismissed (if discussed at all) is the balance of offense and defense factoring into a player’s greatness. I see people completely dismissing Steph from top-10 discussions because he’s not the best defender. However, I feel like truly transcendent offense can make up for deficiencies on the other end. Like… is a player who is +20 on offense and 0 on defense any better or worse than one who is +10 on both offense and defense?
Jokic, to me, feels like such a generationally gifted offensive player. Maybe he’s not on Steph’s all-time offensive level (yet), but his combination of adaptable and efficient scoring, unfairly good passing, and ability to make all of his teammates better more than outweighs his lack on defense. And he’s not even a bad defender — he’s about average for a center, but being seven feet tall with fast hands more than makes up for his lack of speed and verticality.
He’s not as good as Giannis, Embiid, or AD defensively. But he’s so consistent and unstoppable on offense that, if his offense and defense were numericized and summed up, that number would be higher than the totals of any of the aforementioned three.

Jokić is like a less athletic 7 ft tall version of Damian Lillard (although lillard is a better shooter and jokic a better playmaker but their scoring is on the same level and they have a similar way of their scoring and playmaking amplifying each other)
Revo_Int92
Jokic has a legit argument to be the most talented offensive center ever, which is crazy, reaching the standards of Olajuwon and KAJ, then you can include the physical dominance of Shaq and Wilt. I still think Olajuwon remains the most talented (on both ends, which makes him the greatest big man that ever played the game), but Jokic is really close to Olajuwon as offense goes
Huge-Connection954
Anyone that doesnt think Jokic is the best is just a fanboy of someone else or doesnt watch basketball right now.
