Would you do this draft night trade?

Would you trade Tim, Javale and our 10th pick for Bogdanovic and Duren?

Why Mavs do this trade: brings in two guys who can both start for us. Bojan is another threat offensively and can easily be our 3rd option while also providing some defense (not a lockdown defender, but not a negative on defense). Duren can be our starting center and is the youngest player in the league so there’s still a lot for him to develop into. He will bring the rim protection and rebounding we desperately need and will be a nice complement to Luka and Kyrie on offense.

Why the Pistons do this trade: Detroit traded for James Wiseman in the trade deadline and also have Stewart and Bagley as their bigs. They will get the 10th pick in this draft which will allow them to get another quality wing that will fit the rest of their roster’s timeline. They can possibly package the 5th pick and the 10th pick to try to move up in the draft. They also get two veterans in THJ, which they coveted a few off-seasons ago, who can provide some offensive spark and Javale who will be a good presence for their young roster and will add depth for them when needed.

Who says yes to this trade? Who says no? And do you guys think we can get a better package for our pick if we decide to trade it?

Of course we would. The Pistons would laugh you off the phone though.

In a heartbeat, but the pistons 10000000% would not. Duren is going to be better than any of the other bigs on their squad.

That’s basically negative value and 10th for a very efficient scorer who can fit into any offence and one of the best young big men

There’s absolutely no benefit for DET to take this trade.

Ah yes. It’s silly season. There’s no news for 27 (soon 28) teams, so here come the silly lopsided trades that only benefit your team. And I’m not even mad. I’m amused. Every fan base does it. Every fan base only takes into account how a trade benefits their side, while concocting some contributed reason why it actually does help the other team. They also overvalue their own players to the point that is almost comical, and devalue other teams players in the same way. Like I saw someone say today that they wouldn’t part with Hardy as part of a package for Bam Adebayo, which was ridiculous from the beginning because the Mavs don’t have anywhere near the assets to acquire Bam, AND STILL HE WOULDN’T INCLUDE HARDY!!!! FOR BAM ADEBAYO!!!!! He really thought something like Tim, #10 and 2027 FRP could get Bam to the Mavericks.

    Ah silly season. Never change

1: The Pistons aren’t trading Duren. He’s the center of the future for us. The Mavs should draft a Center at #10 if they want one or trade down and pick a Center later in the draft.

2: Wiseman and Bagley definitely aren’t long-term pieces for the Pistons, and Stew is more of a PF that could also play C than just a C.

3: We started Stew at PF and Duren at C most of the year, and unless we draft a PF, that would be what we do next year.

4: Bojan is bad at defense, I’m not sure the Mavs would want him given how bad the Mavs defense is.
