From a Doc to a Nurse. Maybe soon we’ll get out of the hospital

I have a lot of comments about this man to delete

Awesome, looking forward to seeing this sub come up with an excuse to fire him when Joel gives up during the second round next year.

Can’t wait to see an actual offence again.

Before people complain, yes we have a lot of roster shuffling and decisions to make. But coaching was something we absolutely had to address, and I think we got by far the best proven coach on the market and that’s a great start

Never did I think I’d be so happy about hiring Nick Nurse

Embiid about to be playing 48 minutes under Nurse

what an upgrade, we might be in ship shape once a tobi trade goes through

The best proven coach available, not bad. Maybe he can get Embiid to lock in mentally all of the time.

His best work imo was with the raptors the year after they won it all, when they lost kawhi and green and still took Boston to the brink and won like 58 games or the equivalent in a short year. That team locked in on both ends of the ball and *competed*

Sixers try not to go after big name coaches challenge

He’s annoying as hell but probably the best option

impressive, very nice. now let’s see the free agency

  13. DELCO-PHILLY-BOY

    Hot damn!

Never ever complained about this man in my life.

  14. Skullripper675

If he’s as bad as Doc I’m suing for malpractice

Smart hire! I actually wanted Mike D’Antoni as a former Suns fan, but I think most fans would have hated reuniting the Harden Rockets staff.

Nurse, as one of the ringer guys put it, is defensive Mike D’Antoni. Idk how much more dynamic he’s going to make your offense (see Toronto offense since Kawhi left) but at the same time Toronto had little 3 point shooters these past 4 years.

  17. Isn’t this good? Why do I see some people on twt complaining?

  18. jloops03

Guess i should stop calling him the Canadian Thibs now lol

  19. Serpico2

He is the best of the available options; but I really hope he brings in a top assistant who can implement a modern offensive built around ball movement, cuts, off ball screens and 3s. Harden especially but Embiid too are ball stoppers. If we end up keeping Harden it better be under fucking stood that he has to acquiesce to the coaching staff not the other way around.

Nick Nurse in 2024 on what it took to get Joel Embiid properly locked in and lead the Sixers out of the second round:

“I just told him, respectfully, to stop bitchin.”

  21. jeppsforst

I already foresee the terrorist lineup of Melton Springer McDaniels Reed Embiid. I need it.

Now bring Sam back as assistant coach pls
