[Acho] Jimmy Butler with one of my all time favorite quotes about the Miami Heat back ups: “I don’t call them role players, I call them teammates…”

Interesting to see how Jimmy sees his teammates as and why people and his teammates say he’s such an unselfish superstar.

Nah but he supposed to be a locker room cancer though…

    He’s not a superstar, he’s a friend

If we lose to the heat I honestly won’t be upset. Jimmy Butler is one of my favourite players and I think the Heat organization as a whole is incredibly classy and loyal – in my opinion, the most respectable franchise in the league. Doesn’t seem to be a single player with any arrogance or dirtiness from any of their players that I’ve seen. The “family” environment that Spoelstra and Riley have strived to create is paying off in a big way right now, and now they’re 4 wins away from being the first nba team *ever* to win a ring as the 8 seed.

As much as they were huge assholes to the teammates they didn’t like, this is how MJ and Kobe talked about the teammates they did love. I don’t recall Kobe ever referring to guys like LO, DFish, and Vujacic as role players or his “supporting cast”.

Given Jimmy’s past run-ins with teammates like KAT and some of the guys on the Sixers, it looks like he’s cut from the same cloth lol. They love guys who play hard, don’t back down and match their work ethic.

Jimmy made his bones with third stringers

    He’s in his element rn

    Disgusting, absolute locker room cancer

  7. I love that Pat Riley heard the story of Jimmy dominating with third stringers during practice so he decided to build this team around that concept

I’ve always thought if Shaq ever called me an “other” trying to gas me I’d want to slap him across the face. Jimmy clearly agrees.

    That is a good quote.

Also explains how he and the third stringers dominated that practice

  10. dat_tech

Great quote, but low key which stars have ever called their teammates “role players” lol. That moniker is really a media and fan thing

He also said in the post game interview “We aren’t an 8th seed, we are a great team, period.”
That is the definition of a team leader. He takes accountability when they fuck up, but doesn’t over embellish his greatness when they win. Tatum better study this type of leadership because Jaylen will never play another game in a Celtics uniform.

Heat can’t possibly win because I just heard that ESPN analytics only give Miami a 4% chance of winning the series!!!!

  13. tuinktuink

Jimmy with heat 3rd stringer beating celtic

Someone had to say it. I’m so annoyed with “role” players phrasing like they are just on the side watching.

    Teammates it is.

Heat has the power of friendship, dudes are on Kuroko no Basket lmao

Hell, if I was making that much money he could call me Poopypants McButtchugger for all I care.

“I CAN WIN WITH THESE CATS”. Jimmy Butler on every teams he’s been on.
