Sources tell Lakers Daily that the Lakers are interested in acquiring Reid, who will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
Reid, 23, has spent the last four seasons with the Timberwolves and became a key part of their rotation in the 2022-23 season with Karl-Anthony Towns missing time due to a calf injury.
Unfortunately, the big man’s season ended early after he suffered a wrist injury against the Phoenix Suns on March 29.
The Louisiana State University product posted career-highs in points (11.5) and rebounds (4.9) per game in the 2022-23 season. He also shot an impressive 53.7 percent from the field and 34.6 percent from beyond the arc. For his career, Reid is a solid shooter for a big man, shooting 34.4 percent from 3-point range.
Back in February, Yahoo! Sports’ Jake Fischer reported the Reid is looking for a deal in the $10 million per year range.
“The name to keep an eye on most may be Timberwolves center Naz Reid, who has declined varied contract extension offers from Minnesota, sources told Yahoo Sports, and is said to be seeking salary in the ballpark of $10 million next season,” Fischer wrote.
The Lakers could certainly use a frontcourt player with Reid’s skill set if they want to improve the roster this coming offseason.

Questionable source and they even bring up he wants 10 million. For us to get to the MLE we would need to drop Mo, Lonnie, and Malik and give up any real shot at Dennis besides a minimum contract. Doable, but damn.
Hmmmmm so in 68 games played this season, he’s a -128. Turnover machine at 92 total TOV and 176 total fouls this season.

If we can offer him the MLE, I think that would be good, but maybe other teams could pay him more.

Didn’t we basically already have him with Thomas Bryant? I really like him, obviously he’s younger and better than TB, but they’re both undersized offensive bigs with questionable defense and rebounding. I’m just not really sure what he brings over Thomas Bryant, a guy we traded away this season.
If we get him and manage to keep the majority of the core together we should be considered one of the favorites next season. Dudes a stud who should be a starter

Do keep in mind he is only 6’9. We need some legit height to help alleviate AD getting banged up.
Think about it, Nugs have Jokic, Kings sabonis, Grizz JJJ also Adams and Clark, suns KD & Ayton, wolves Kat & gobert.
I think we really really need a servicable centre who compliments AD. Can bang with the big boys and take some fouls.
Would have to use the MLE and forgo resigning Dennis. I wanna keep Dennis, so I’m conflicted.
