[Kevin O’Connor] “It sounds like that team doesn’t really know what they want to do…There’s people in that front office that want to go full rebuild. There’s people who want to maintain status-quo”

“It sounds like that team doesn’t really know what they want to do. I think that’s a genuine thing that we’ve seen reported. From conversations I’ve had there’s people in that front office that want to go full rebuild. There’s people who want to maintain status-quo and continue trying to building up from here. There’s differing philosophies.”

  1. Masai and Bobby probably want to rebuild. MLSE though? They want to act like that Tampa season means we can’t rebuild right now due to them needing money.

Our fanbase is great. If MLSE lowers the ticket prices I’m sure games will still be sold out or near capacity. MLSE will definitely be the reason why this team doesn’t rebuild this offseason.

I wish I could work in the front office to know how tf this whole thing works. like does the opinion of anybody not named Bobby or Masai actually matter (other than ownership)?

If we had Danny Ainge we all know what would happen. Ainge got a vision for long term success in the NBA. What the hell is Masai doing man. Ainge would have cleaned house at the deadline. Now that we have Jak, they feel more inclined to retool which is fucked.

Soft rebuild maybe. I can’t see them going full rebuild when we traded our pick

I mean, from my purely ignorant standpoint (no idea who is happy and who is not, relationships with the FO, etc) one of O.G., Fred or Siakam has to go

  6. Respectfully, how is KOC connected to the folks in our FO? Is he parroting what other FO’s think is happening in Toronto? Or is he speaking with people who work under Masai?

My guess is Masai & Bobby want to rebuild but MLSE wants a chance at playoff revenue.

Shouldn’t they have had this conversation before they traded a lightly protected first round pick and 2 seconds for an expiring center?

    >There’s people who want to maintain status-quo

That is so damn annoying. At the very least, at least go for a retool. But God, I hope they don’t just run it back for the sake of short-term ticket sales.

I love this team but I don’t think I’ll be able to handle running it back. I don’t even care about winning or losing this core just has no vibes, I miss the vibes of the older teams even if they were a first/second round exit.

Man this honestly sounds like an incompetent FO from an outsider perspective. Its literally june in 2 days and these clowns still dont know what direction to go in? Is it not obvious to like 90% of the fanbase?

They gotta meet in the middle, the middle is trading Siakam

  13. Barnicus53

KOC basically parroting what Windhorst said and is passing it off as if he’s got sources, lol. What a nerd.

Running it back, they want to see how a full szn with poetl is, and hopefully raise the value of assets I’m assuming

  15. rustyshackleford_711

This is all just a false facade to get teams to up the return for our assets. Masai playing chess leaking BS to pleb reporters lol

  16. Guymongoose431

Maybe Bobby wants to do one thing and Masai the other. The disagreement could be at that level.

Genuinely curious how people still believe in Masai at this point.
