This isn’t hyperbole. Of course this will happen. I’ve always believed there’s going to be an off season where a bevy of these picks will go towards a superstar player as we can’t live in the lotto forever….else you’re going “hey Giddey, it’s been nice, but I already have your replacement, though you’re only about 21 yourself”

Team’s not even made the playoffs yet and the media is already parroting a “break them up” narrative

The biggest consequences of spending over the tax is the roster building limitations and the ways it hurts your chance to add depth in the offseason. But the Thunder are uniquely positioned to build an incredibly deep team of draft picks if we don’t use them all in a trade but instead trade up and pick 1-2 solid rotational pieces most years.

The CBA adds some limits but to be honest it limits other young teams cores more than us because they don’t have draft capital we do to build the rest of the roster for cheap. We are going to be fine.
