[Popper] Newsday has learned that the Knicks and general manager Scott Perry will part ways. Perry’s contract is up shortly and he will not return. Extended 2 years ago by the current front office he helped smooth the transition but won’t be kept on in the crowded group of decision makers

  1. Interesting. I trust the FO but generally seems like Perry has been good for the team. Either way, big ups to him for helping facilitate the turnaround of the last 5 years

I posted about Bob Myers stepping down from GSW and people got mad cuz they thought I implied he should replace Rose 💀💀

I don’t hate Perry, but unfortunately when I think about him I always think about the shit show Mills, Perry, Fizdale era

We had a lot of cooks in the kitchen already so I’m not surprised this happened, kinda out of nowhere news wise but it seems the knicks fo doesn’t leak a lot of rumors

  4. Scott Perry was a great executive for the franchise despite the dysfunction of Steve Mills. I think Leon Rose keeping him on board and even retaining him to a short extension speaks to how good he was for the org. Definitely an underrated, logical, and steady operator that we desperately needed and he’ll probably get a great position elsewhere

He drafted Frank and Knox, thank God for Walt Perrin

  6. Gerrson Rosas was handpicked by the front office in 2022, and he led negotiations for Donovan Mitchell. He is coming and it should alarm all Knicks fans, as he replaced Thibs in Minnesota.

Damn. This guy just knows basketball plain and simple. Sad to see this honestly but I do trust this FO anyway

Thanks, Scott. You had a rough go of it with Mills, but you were good. All the best to you.

Good luck to him. Had to put up with Steve Mills’ bullshit for way too long and ultimately got his sorry ass fired, which makes Perry’s 5+ years here more than worth it. Won’t take long for him to find another Asst or even primary GM position elsewhere. Would bet Rosas becomes our GM, even though Bob Meyers would be the dream scenario.

He should be commended for winning the battle for Dolans heart vs Steve Mills. That marked the start of competency.

Broke: we let Scott perry go so we could sign Bob Myers

Woke: we let Scott perry go so that he could interview for the Warriors vacant GM position

    TY Perry 🫡

That guy made some shaky ass decisions like getting 4 power forwards that year and falling in love with Elfred Peyon, I was reading some advanced stats on him and he was in the 30th percentile as an offensive player when he played for us the year that we were the 4 seed, The team had to drag his ass around like he was a corpse

The crazy thing is that when Peyton and Noel left the Knicks they were both in the one percentile in offensive rating that year and then basicallly out of he NBA

I’m all for less cooks in the kitchen.

I want Leon Rose to bring in his own people.

Knicks seem to be cost cutting. Dolan has laid off executives at AMC, The Rangers, MSG Sphere, and now Knicks, all in the last year. I believe it has to do with the budget overruns of his MSG Sphere project.

  15. This is sad for me, Scott has been great. Hope they’re able to retain him somehow stillz

Met this dude several times when he went golfing. Always respectful and cool. Wishing him the best
