    Full quote:

    >”We had some talks with [the team]. I think this summer won’t be easy for them because they will have to make a few key decisions. Our season didn’t go as planned, so there will definitely be changes,” Valanciunas said.

    > “I would like to stay and extend my contract,” JV continued. “Obviously, during the season, you try to help the team as much as possible, but when the summer comes, you try to take care of your own things – how to extend the contract and stuff.”

JV has all the attributes of a player you want on your team. He was most effective when we ran the offense through him. Although we need another big with a different skill set, I enjoy him on our team and hope to keep him.

In an alternate reality we had JV rather than Omer Asik and we have at least one banner in the SKC

Pipe fucking dream: JV somehow turns into Brook Lopez next season similar to how he went from a primarily post player with no defense into a stretch big who rim protects.

Whatever happens though, I’m glad we have him. Dude never complained once about his minutes being reduced and only cared about what the team ultimately wanted. Class act.

Jv already on a team friendly deal, could see a dip in his pay to become the bench center and veteran mentor we so desperately need. If we decide to invest in a younger center his combination of skill and experience would be super valuable. Not sure how we could get a better return in a trade unless he’s a peice of a much larger deal

We should definitely keep him, shouldn’t be hard to move picks and salary to get the rim protection we need
