Come on. He’s playing against much smaller and lesser athletic players than are in the NBA. He should be putting up insane all around numbers including assists and steals. Plus, He doesn’t have to exert himself in the LNB. But next year he must guard Lopez, Porzingis, Zupac, AD, Jokic, Embiid among others and must drive by pick pocket guards, and play twice as many games.
He hasn’t done anything extraordinary in at least a month and has shot about 20% from three in his last 8 or 10 games. Can’t anyone see some downside?
Spurs are in a great spot here. The question is, will he want to play for them long term?

With that size and skills… The league should change the dimensions of the court, else it will be a match between KD, Giannis and Dirk combined against Iverson alone.
If the Spurs build a Nugget's style offence around Wemby, they could be better than this year's Nuggets.

I am all for his growth and potential. But now it's getting out of hands. The expectations on him are just so unfair!! Regardless of how talented, gifted and skilled he is and might even be more, but the media is doing too much about hyping him as THE prospect. Cuz one small slight, and everyone will start losing their shit and faith, and then one day call him a bluff.
Wemby does not seem to be fazed by the attention he is receiving. He has a good head on his shoulders and I do not see him trying to force things on the court. I do not think he will be a center right away. He could be a 4 his entire career. He is going to be different and play different than anyone before him. He can be a 7'5" Kevin Durrant with incredible defense. Him just coming over from the weak side will be devastating for opponents. The Spurs will be smart with him until he puts on some more muscle. Popovich does not overuse his players.
