The New York Knicks are coming off a great season. They went from a team projected to make the play in at best to a team that was two wins from the conference finals. But the Knicks want to build off that excellent season and do even better next year and that starts with addressing the team needs with free agency signings. This video will list 5 free agency candidates for the Knicks, including Yuta Watanabe, Lonnie Walker, Donte DiVincenzo amongst others.

  1. very interesting and well reasoned. I think any of these five players could all help the Knicks get to the next level. The Knicks should hire you as a scout.

  2. thibs plays 9 players. who do they replace.? which bench player goes. thibs won't go to a 10 man rotation because you think so. i hate this time of year. everyone has 5 or 10 trades or signings the knicks should make. it's not gonna happen. leon rose will be lucky to do 1. and that would be randle. and he won't do that unless he feels he gets equal value.

  3. The Knicks should have picked off kristoff porzingis at free agency. They would have been right now in the championship playoffs they don't need role players. They need to get rid of. Julius Randall bringing a power forward and get rid of all we tapping and get rid of RJ Barrett. He's no superstar he will never be a superstar. He's just a above average player who's getting paid too much? Get rid of some of those number ones because they're not going to mount to anything. The next are going to be in the playoffs for the next three or four seasons. T
hey're not going to be lottery picks

  4. Yuta, DiVincenzo and Schroder would all be great options. The skill that the Knicks lack the most is ball handling so Schroder would be a good fit to let IQ be a straight up SG. It would create friction though as he'll then be fighting for minutes with Grimes. But it gives us even more depth that we can rely on. IQ can go back to being a microwave who can create and defend his ass off. If he had handles, we wouldn't need Schroder. From where I stand, I see that as a better option if I'm trusting Grimes and RJ to take a leap this year in their games. I need to see Grimes learn to shoot off the dribble, slow himself down on spot up jumpers, and trust his handles more. The guy used to be a PG. I wanna see him use some of those skills. RJ also needs handles and to show us more consistent shooting akin to what he gave us against Cleveland in the first round. If you get Yuta, you may as well trade RJ.

  5. I thought I was the only one dreaming about making Yuta a Knick. He is limited, but elite at what he brings and what he brings is exactly what the Knicks need.

  6. Yuta would be asking too much! 6’7”, plays D and shoots the long-ball! I’d like that, but his service is gonna be in demand!

  7. I'm surprised NBA is playing an Asian player at all. Also, what you're wrong about the Asian community is that Lin was Taiwanese. Japanese anime might be popular, but don't bet that he will be popular in the Asian community as player.

  8. They are not bringing in anyone, until someone out of the rotation is gone ( Thibs only plays 9 , that’s it ) that’s why they didn’t care about the lottery pick, because they knew they wouldn’t crack the rotation.

  9. Players can make a difference but I believe a big improvement would be for them to pass to the open man instead of individually ball dribbling

  10. 3 problems, 3 bad contracts that can't shoot or defend. Slow RJ Brickitt, JR "maybe they want it more" and Fournier. They need to go… !!!! The Knicks will never win with these 3.

  11. Strus would be perfect if our offense was as smooth as Miami.. Miami passes the ball and Knicks pound the ball into the floor. No movement

  12. I can’t count on quickley doin worse next season tbh he should get better we don’t need shrouder or strus idk man

  13. Good capture. I feel strongly we need to stay away from guards, but Watanabe is an interesting first choice for all the reasons you mention. I do not think we should over react to IQ having a bad playoffs. He is an excellent second ball handler and player on both sides of the ball, and Deuce is ready to take off too. I do not see a need for another PG or 2G unless one or more of our core 6 guards (Brunson, Grimes, IQ, Hart, RJ, Deuce) are moved.
