Tim Cato has reported that the Mavs are unlikely to take Dick, but nevertheless it seems they elected to bring Dick in for a workout and get a look at him.
I do think that Dick is a sublime fit with Luka and Kyrie on offense, and if Hendricks/Walker are not on the board he will probably be BPA at that slot.

I have been a Cuban defender for the longest time. If we draft Dick, I will officially side with most of you and agree that we have the dumbest owner and front office in all of sports.

if we make a trade involving THJ, I’m honestly not opposed to taking him, but the scenario would have to be weird. we would need wing defense or a big coming back in return, and then maybe it’d make sense to take him.
So tired of people acting like he’s a shit player that doesn’t have a high ceiling. Tells me not many people watch college basketball. Not the best fit when we need defense, but one rookie ain’t gonna change the Mavs shitty defense.

Second, watching Braun last night be a capable pro and knowing Dick is better than Braun, I would not hate the pick. Still want a Hendricks or Walker first. If we got Dick (still funny name) and swapped THJ for Capella, we would have made the team better this offseason

If the Mavs draft him, it must be because he’s really good considering he doesn’t fit their needs. I can’t blame them if they go for BPA vs fit. It’s the age old question when it comes to drafting.
