This day in Lakers history: June 2, 2002 – Game 7 against the Kings, with Shaq scoring 35 points and 13 rebounds, Kobe with 30 and 10, and double-doubles from Fox and Horry as well in an overtime classic

Such a fond memory that I will never forget.
💛💜🖤
Love everything about this era. The NBC presentation, the jerseys, the atmosphere. Prime basketball.
Rick Fox grabbed 14 boards without ever leaving his feet (probably).
Minor detail: Kobe played 52.5 of the 53 minutes, and the only seconds he wasn’t on the court were because he lost the drawstring in his shorts and had to change them.
Kobe Shaq Lakers have to be THE best Lakers team of all-time. No other Lakers team is beating this team, damn that was a fun time to follow Lakers
And somewhere in the top 3 of all time teams assembled in the NBA
Game seven overtime win on the road. What a great memory.
Man, Fox and Horry with double doubles in the pivotal Game 7. If the Lakers Nation podcast existed back then, Trevor Lane would definitely pick them as co-Stars in your Role!
I just love to look back at these times and appreciate how well-connected this Lakers team was in their quest for that all-elusive 3-Peat, which hasn’t been done by any other NBA team since the 2000-2002 Lakers!
I remember Bibby cookin that game. Also, damn I miss the nba on nbc theme
