That’s a great way to ensure Jimmy never gets it going offensively. Jimmy already is hobbled with that sprained ankle. If he is chasing Murray around off-ball and getting slammed by Jokic picks in the two-man game, it’ll take all his energy. He won’t have anything left to give on the side of the ball where the Heat need him most.

Thing is, there’s no where to hide vs the Nuggets. There’s a mismatch at at least 1 position on the court at all times. Reminds me of the 2016 Thunder rolling out KD/Ibaka/Adams but in this case, they can all shoot really well.
Heat would have to run something like Butler/Strus/Martin/Highsmith/Bam to have a shot defensively. But it still likely wouldn’t be enough.

Throw Lowry at Murray w Vincent help, Jimmy stuck to MPJ in the corner playing passing lanes (saves his energy for offense), Bam on AG & playing help on drives/jokic posts, Love on Jokic (lol). Then let KCP shoot as much as he wants. It won’t work but it wouldn’t hurt for them to try

It’s like people don’t watch the NBA. Murray isn’t an elite 1v1 player. He’s great at getting a screen & making a great read. Whether it’s a wide open middy, a pass, or getting a poor defender on him to attack. He’s not going to take anyone on 1v1 that’s an elite defender. Put Butler on him and it’s a waste, just opens up holes somewhere else.

Celtics, if they don’t play like trash, are a much better matchup for the Nuggets. One of the few teams that can match the size and speed up and down the lineup. Horford on Jokic, Tatum on Gordon, all the PG’s on Murray. Unless the role players shoot 50% from 3 like the ECF, Nuggets in 5

Jokic didn’t struggle to generate offense lol. He just wasn’t taking shots because they were double teaming him every time he touched the ball, and he’s not the kind of player to force a bad shot. The dude had 10 assists in the first half and then, when they finally got sick of him picking them apart from the double team and put him in single coverage, he scored every time he wanted. The guy is an unsolvable problem on offense.
