[Dan Devine] Michael Porter Jr.’s favorite memory from the bubble? “Definitely the piña coladas at the pool. We would go to the pool every single day — me, Bol Bol, Torrey Craig. We would just go to the pool and drink piña coladas all day.”

[Twitter-Source](https://twitter.com/YourManDevine/status/1665090323163348992?s=20).

Maybe we have our explanation as to why Michael Porter Jr. made such a huge leap in his development as a player since the bubble.

One would assume his professionalism certainly improved over the past three years.

It also explains why coach Michael Malone was riding his ass so hard during his first few years in the league.

Although it has to be said, it sounds like a pretty sweet time.

A doc on life inside the bubble would be so interesting.

I know they were on the same team, but that is the most random collection of dudes to be drinking frozen drinks by the pool lmfao

MPJ doesn’t seem like the type of young man to relax that way so I was very happy to read this. 🙂

It’s shit like this that makes me roll my eyes when people talk about this bubble being mentally tough.

Like if you look at what they “went through” in the bubble and think it’s a hardship on any level. Congrats, you got a soft ass Cush life yourself as well.

Haslem sleeping on the couch and making sure his soul is surrounded by darkness and bol bol is out here just living his best life 😂

Lmao this Nuggets team is such an eccentric bunch of dudes.

  16. Bol Bol is the GOAT. He is just misused by his coaches. He needs to play a jokic role but with twice as much scoring. 40-15-15 should be his average.

  17. Truthful_Azn

So that is how Lebronze won his Mickey Mouse ring, by buying his opponents pina coladas, smart man.

How come now everyone talks about the bubble like it was so awesome, but at the time everyone acted like it was the worst thing in the world? I guess narratives change depending on if you’re defending your bubble performance or not

I think people forget that, while professional athletes, these guys are still super young and mostly uneducated (not that they are dumb, just that it would take some experience in order to solidify business-wise, as well as having the innate ability to select the right people for their respective jobs).

Imagine being in your 20s, pretty famous, making more money than you had ever dreamed of, and changing your life radically in under a decade? Not to mention the vultures/opportunists.

I doubt most people in their 20s only thought about work first, everything else second. It is why guys like Kobe, LeBron, MJ, Giannis, are so great – they obviously have the talent, but they already had the maturity and mentality of consummate professionals. But most people aren’t like that, so we should understand that there is a potential character growth included when you draft someone.

Must be why Bol Bol fucking sucks

Been on mpj hype since day 1. Man i think MPJ could blow up to a second option, but he doesnt have to with Murray.

Has been amazing to see his improvement in defense.

  22. iDUMPEDbeforeTHEPUMP

That is peak living man. Stay at a resort, play basketball and drink coladas all day by the pool. Fuck

  23. smalls_1804

Honestly dude I’m not judging anyone for how they got through the pandemic

  24. BramptonBatallion

    > drink pina coladas all day

Wow guys were sure taking the “NBA Playoffs” seriously that year…

Embiid has Shirley Temples, Porter’s got Piña Coladas. Maybe a correlation.
