Shalom my brother Sim, I understand that some people want to give Randle a pass,because of his bad play in the playoffs with his ankle hurt, OK I get it but he knows that isn't a excuse because he wanted to play subpar and that won't work. So here's something to think about,in the Atlanta series we didn't here he had anything he had physical problems, that being said he just played poorly and that was no excuse either. He is not ready to lead or be a leader, he's a 3rd to 4th team option. And I think his time to move on to another team that he doesn't have to be the man for the team. We all know that unless he went straight for surgery and just sat, he would've been ostracized. But no one questions his physical durability. It's his mental that gets caled into question.

I think Randle should have told Thibbs he was not ready to go, we could of started Obi! An injury such as that, could of hurt the team and possibly hurt his career. Must be smart!
Randle has proven to be an iron man. If he couldnt go 100% then sit..No change for me. Its selfish to play hurt and not be fully engaged.
This is also the results of the dirty players of Miami. They have injured in the playoffs: Giannis, Randle, Quickley, Brunson, Grimes, Mitch, J. Brown, R. Williams lll. Keep an eye on Bam, Lowry, Zeller & Butler in game #2 & #3!
I'm not trying to cry over spilled milk, but look at the video of when Randle was coming down, Bam purposely put his foot underneath Randle from behind, knowing he had to come down!

Randles performance makes the team less exciting, id like to see him and IQ(another selfish player) traded for team players like josh Hart.
Hindsight he shouldn’t have played but he gave it a shot. The bad thing 2 playoffs and not a great impression so gives a lot of question marks. This year might be his last chance I feel although if we could trade for a better player I say do it.

No. No one told him to be shooting fade away 3’s on the good foot! Obi was on the bench ready to run. Trade Randle while his stock is high. Get another coach in here to run a better offense.
It was too much pressure on JR to make up for his 1st playoff vs ATL. If he would've sat out ppl would've said he was afraid of the moment…Keep JR but add a stretch 5 and a 3 & D wing next to him to make his life even easier!

I respected Julius before and after the injury. His playoff performance wouldn’t have been much different if he was injured or not. So my opinion of Julius hasn’t changed much. He is a 3rd scoring option at best. I don’t believe his top scoring mindset on the Knicks wont change. If the Knicks could trade him for a similar production player with a team first mindset would be ideal. Trade him in February 2024 after he has improved his trade ability with a health status. Package him for an available superstar player.

A bum ankle doesn't affect his inability to make the pass out of the double team, slow the offense up, and have a bad attitude with teammates. He's still a head case.
Why do we forget the season he was having prior to the first ankle turn near the end of the season? This dude came back and was obviously rusty then re-injured it in a game he started cooking in. He tried to play, some say he shouldn't have but let's be honest we all know THIS fan base would've destroyed him if he didn't. Unfortunately we still did
I'm am a knick fan and want to win desperately but getting rid of a 25 and 10 guy for a bag of chips is not very smart. This season he had two blow ups on court. We're not talking about the fact that miami tossed him on the ground and he didn't react. I say that is growth. He is a allstar player making chump change in this days of 250 million dollar contracts. If you find someone to trade for who is averaging the same numbers and making the same money let me know. Until then it is a pipe dream and you will be complaining about him next year when he's averaging 28 and 12. If one thing is true he gets better everytime we as fans get at him. Food for thought.

No, it doesn’t change my opinion on his playoff performance. It does make me question Thibs and the training staff. What if the beat Miami? He continues to play on a bum ankle knowing he needs surgery? A healthy Obi who was drafted by this front office sat on the bench. What does it do a kid’s confidence to know your coach thinks a hobbled Randle gives a better shot at winning than a healthy Obi who played decent in his limited minutes.

Your player rotations burn starters out, and does not prepare your bench for the playoffs! This is why Randall gets hurt, and Derek Rose gets injured all the time!

If you don’t see the negative impact he has on the flow of the game and the energy of the team, then you might gotta go too. When you look at his subpar basketball IQ and all the mistakes he continues to make game after game…it’s a no brainer. I wish him well but let’s get what we can get and replace his numbers by committee. It’s business, nothing personal. The culture has shifted.
This only shows that thibs can't manage stars or big name players. Steve Kerr, Spoelstra or Popps, would never have continued with JR whiles having Obi on the bench.
My opinion of hasn't changed one bit, Randle is a bad shot shooter turnover prone,low basketball IQ. Questionable handle and effort with a healthy ankle.But he can get 25 points and 10 rebounds with 5 assists in the regular season in his sleep

I don't care about the talking points… I gotta judge em fairly… if someone is injured and decides to play it is brave… not often wise… sometimes counter productive… but still respectable… and we can only perform up the level that our capability allows… so I cannot fairly judge his performance with him not at full capability… only the foolishness of the decision to play… but he was likely pressured into doing that for a number of reasons… And it would be more bareable and acceptable if he was always giving full effort all season even when he was fully healthy… and also his level of emotional maturity and logical focus makes it harder for be to give him a total pass… but he has done well at points… and if he was completely healthy I think it would have worked out a lot better for us…
So many players making double what JR makes not much better than him or worse than him but the fan base continues to trash him.

First and foremost, the medical makes a decision on the player. If they okay it then it his decision. That’s how it works. He decided to go.
Secondly, the procedure is minimally invasive and is done to remove any damaged tissue. Meaning he’ll be just fine.
With that said, no I don’t excuse his play due to the injury because there are a lot of things he could of done to help the team win (ie. Run down the floor into the low block, not pound or turnover the ball, get back on defense).
