This day in Lakers history: June 4, 2000 – The game that started a new Laker dynasty, as they stormed back from a 15-point 4th quarter deficit in Game 7 to stun the Blazers, capped by an all-time Kobe-Shaq alley-oop

My favorite play is when Shaq goes coast to coast
Its the offseason, something good to remind us of.
I was 10YO during this game and had a rando Shaq shirt during the game (not a jersey). When the 4th period comeback was going on, I was blasting Aaron Carter’s song about Shaq on my Dad’s CD/cassette player in the living room and being so damn full of myself…and reckon my Dad was tired of that tune on full blast.
You can never convince otherwise that elementary-me was more happy about the Lakers than the Kobe-to-Shaq lob to seal the deal in that Game 7.
Brian Shaw’s 3pt shot at the end of the 3rd was the momentum shifter.
B mother fucking Shaw!
My favorite part of that Kobe to Shaq play is how all business Kobe is. Shaq is losing his mind and Kobe gives a high five like, “Good play but we still got a game to win, big fella.”
Even though we won a ring, the LeBron era hasn’t been as strong as it could’ve been. Likely wasnt going to be like the three-peat era but at least it could’ve been more like the Kobe 24 era in terms of being a constant contender. The Russ trade was a monumental mistake that ruined 2 seasons.
Big shot shaw and rob
Kobe crossing Pip up was so exaggerated that it looked out of an anime or some shit
Man that Blazers team was stacked!! They had Sheed, Pippen, Steve Smith, Bonzi Wells, Mighty Mouse, Arvydas Sabonis, Detlef Schrempf, Jermaine O’Neal, Brian Grant, Stacey Augmon and Greg Anthony! That’s a hell of a lineup. They def would’ve won the chip if they beat us in this game.
I was there in the nosebleeds. No cap one of the greatest experiences of my life will never ever forget it! 💛💜
