One of the top free agents that Knick fans have interest in is Kristaps Porzingis. This video breaks down his game and looks at the pros and cons of a potential Kristaps Porzingis trade.

Should the Knicks bring back KP?
if randle would focus on rebounding instead of playmaking. we would do ok on the boards
Glad the comment section isn't part of the front office. HELL NAH on KP – dude is way too injury prone. I'd rather keep Julius than have that malcontent Porzingis back.
How about Randle , IQ and Fournier for KP and Beal ? Don’t know if that covers salaries but it should work for everyone. All star back court and Bigs to shuffle. Still having a deep bench that will develop into future starters,. What do you guys think.
I Remember KP absolutely rocking the Garden & the crowd going crazy those were some good times. KP had a healthy season, was the Wizards best player & played like an All Star this year
zingy is not a good 1 on 1 defender. you would have to play zone. don't get mesmerised by offense. defense wins titles. and ball movement. that's why randle has to go. no ball movement when he's on the court. just iso. forget about these trades unless you can trade randle. i have a feeling the knicks might just stay put.
Hartenstien would be better with Fournier and $ saved from Rose coming back for vet min to be player coach emergency PG behind Deuce No pics!
I disagree as far as Randle being better than KP. Yeah his numbers seem better overall but Randle is a head case that always disintegrates in the playoffs and only gives effort on defense occasionally! KP is a real deal two way player! Him and Mitch would be a twin towers block party! Had enough of Randle!
Mitch protects the rim , we lose that element once Mitch is gone
Nah we good
KP back with the NY Knicks 🧡?
I don't think so!
From the bad divorce with the Knicks years ago.
The Knicks are sticking with the youth movement.
No KP! 😡 💢
😮Need Mitch for the Joker😊
They should absolutely bring him back if he’s open to return and the package you proposed should be more than enough to get it done as Washington could lose him for nothing. Also I would do another deal to replace Obi, preferably for a 3D wing. But the return of Alec Burks could be a solid addition too. A starting 5 of Brunson, Grimes, RJ, Randle and KP w a bench unit featuring IQ, Burks, Hart and Ihart could be good enough to get to the ECF next season maybe even more.
Keep Mitch as a back up center. Trade Fournier, Hartenstein, & another player they would be interested in. (Except for Grimes.) And make Randle a third scoring option.
Keep the team as is, bring in Christian Woods and Corey Joe💪
I would rather stick with Randle. I like Porzingis but he struggles to stay healthy
You gonna have to give up Quickley
Don't we have their first round pick that we could give back to them?
Also am I crazy for this trade, RJ and Fournier for Klay Thompson? This works for what both teams want to do. GS wants to get young and faster so they can run the floor and the Knicks with Brunson and Randle are more of a half court team that likes to play slower. Knicks get one of the best shooters in the league which is something they need and considering they were the second youngest team in the playoffs behind the Kings, they can afford to get rid of one of their younger players for a vet with championship experience.
The Knicks could have a lineup like Brunson, Thompson, Grimes, Randle and Mitch with a bench like IQ, Hart, Toppin, Hartstein and get a bench player like Strus, Seth Curry or Alec Burks. Brunson and Randle would finally have some spacing that they could work with that they didn't have before with players like RJ and Hart in the lineup.
Would like some logical thoughts and not emotional responses.
You shouldn't trade Mitch if you're going after Kristaps you need both of them together. If anything you trade Hartenstein which would be tough for me because I love what he brings. Ideally I would trade Julius but that's mostly likely not happening. The trade would mostly likely be Fournier and Quick for Porzingus.
No way we bring back KP. Where would he play? You can't play him at the 5, because that will mean Mitch going to the bench. We would be a terrible defensive team. Mitch's rim protection and P/R defense would sorely be missed.
Kp is the reason i got into basketball and the knicks, he looks so much more healthier and stronger, he's not a young kid anymore. He is the perfect fit for the knicks its just a shame of the complications between him and the front office back then. he should come back now there is a whole new front office
Good content i was listening to another podcast and Bill Daughtry long time Knicks Broadcaster mentioned putting complementary peices around Jalen Brunson he mentioned DeAndre Ayton his ability for pick and rolls and can scretch the floor trading Mitchell Robinson and Juluis Randle to make the salary match what you think
They should sign Jerami Grant
No thanks. The money we would have to pay him doesn't match the production and impact. I'd rather take my chances sticking with Mitch who is the much cheaper option and arguably even more impactful..and no before you say it.. KP is not a power forward anymore
30 million hell no !!!! No Thanks to a injury prone !!!!
Nah. Go get KD..
Mitch ain't going
From what I have read. KP is happy with Wizzards, but sounds like if he had to leave Wizzards, he would love to go back to Knicks. Guy also has been in other people shadow a lot, I think those stats dont present what he can actually do, if he is the main guy. Wiz did have 2 other guys scooring +20 points with much lower percentages, but taking more shots then KP. KP also plays well with Brunson, his time in Dallas showed that and they both are good friends. I think if KP join Knicks, they are going deep playoff run.
Keep Mitch!! Randle….. Bring KP back….
I wouldn’t be shocked if we either trade for Zion Williamson or Myles Turner & Buddy Hield
KP should take a hometown discount for a chance to win a championship for the next 3 seasons. A 3 year 75 million dollar deal would be perfect!!
With KP you definitely need Mitchell Robinson because you are probably only getting 65 games max out of KP unless he stays healthy all year. Trade Randle and I Hart so KP, Obi and Mitchell Robinson can hold down the PF/ Center spot. Than you still have Sims as a back up center..
No thank you move on.
U telling me Obi and Kp won't match or succeed Randall production.. remember that you might get 60 games of KP playing center… and do you want another Randall melt down during the playoffs and fighting with teammates like he did with Quickley
Hell nah Knicks gave up melo for KP
Bro you are tripping. We are not giving away a first-round pick and Mitch for Porzingas when he can leave them as a free agent and we can just sign him outright by not accepting D. Rose's 15.6 team option thats half the money we need right there and trading Fournier. So the real deal would be Fournier, Iq, which gives them a starting pg, and IQ has already said he wants to start, but he won't be behind Brunson and Hartenstein they give us Porzingas and the number 8 pick if they want Julius; instead, they can have him and IQ, and then we use Fournier off the bench, and he has a team option next year anyway so expiring money.
Knicks get KP would be top 3 team in the east
I love the entire Knicks team. I think Knicks fans are too hard on Randle. I argue with coworkers about their disgust that he hasn’t performed well in the playoffs. I point to Tatum and Jaylen Brown on the Celtics who are great players but they don’t have that killer crunch time mentality so should they both be traded? People seem to forget when no one wanted to play for the Knicks, Randle came to the Knicks and is a key reason why the Knicks are relevant again. IWe know we have 1 proven playoff guy who is Jalen Brunson. We know Randle is a solid 2 or 3. None of the other guys on the Knicks have stepped up. Quickley made strides but withered in the playoffs. Toppin improved a little but nothing in the playoffs. Grimes did nothing offensively. Hart was great with his effort but he is not a great outside shooter which hurts. I’m not feeling KP if we have to give up Mitch. I would like to keep this team intact for another year and add a couple of lower pay guys that may fill some of our voids. We need a shooter who plays defense. Alec Burks would be a good add. He’s already played for the Knicks and can handle NY. He is a decent shooter and can excel off the bench. I would rather go that route if we cannot achieve a major superstar. Unless we can get a tier 1 guy, our guys are just as good as any other team’s players. We have a good core who will improve and yes we lost to Miami but so did everyone else in the East. We are 1 player away. Hopefully we can keep Hart and the Knicks brain trust can find that missing piece.
I am very skeptical about KP. On paper, he makes perfect sense. He can improve our interior defense AND improve our 3pt shooting – both are issues. But, it's just on paper. In reality, he has been either injured or below full-strength for every year since we traded him until last year. Last year is really his ONLY good year – when he was relatively healthy and played good on both ends of the floor. What are the chances he will remain healthy for the duration of his contract? Hmm…. I would sign him only to a short-term deal and only one with a way out if he gets injured again. I doubt it would be the best deal for him out there. I wouldn't give up Mitch or any picks for him. NOPE
Yes sir he older now he can handle the pressure
I like the idea, but there is no way they are trading Mitch. I think if this trade goes down, its more likely to be Quick, who wants to start and is from the DC area, Hartenstein and Frenchie to make the money work. Esentially, Wiz are getting their new PG to play with Beal w/ shooter in Frenchie to back him up on expiring contract, Kispert at SF, Avdija at PF and Gafford at Center w/ the versatile Hartenstein backing him up. They should make the playoffs with this team with orr without Kuzma. Knicks get more scoring from KP with Mitch backing him up and sometimes playing together and KPs scoring and floor spacing helps everyone else. Would be a top 3-4 team in the East with that team. Win-Win trade, so I'm in!
KP doesn’t really fit the Knicks current identity of toughness/grit and defensively not so good. Offensive numbers are good but that’s about it. I don’t think he would get the Knicks to the next level and gets hurt too often.
The Knicks are not trading Mitch- his contract is very friendly based on his value. The trade would be Fournier, Hartenstein and IQ who is from the DC/Maryland area and who is looking for a starting role
