  1. Three straight Mvp's playing in an era with Jordan, Magic, DrJ, Jabbar, Olajuwon, Barkley, Ewing, Wilkins… OG style.

  2. Let's all be 100% honest. When there was about 14 seconds left (and Larry hit that 3pt shot falling into bench), that would have been a 4pt play today!!!

That would have put him at 62, not 60.

P.S. I've watched and studied NBA basketball for over 45 years. I've seen some great scoring and shooting nights. From MJ's 63 against Boston in the playoffs to Klays 37 point quarter or 60 point game in 2016 to Kobe's 81 in 2006. The best shooting display I have ever seen (this goes back to 1976 when NBA & ABA merged) is Larry's 60 point game against Hawks. Those other games were unbelievably great, but Bird's shot making was on another level! Honestly, it didn't matter where he was on the court or who was guarding him, that was the most unstoppable I have seen a shooter for a full 48 mins!

  3. Two things. The Hawks bench when Bird scores. Kevin McHale having the game of his life setting the Celtics scoring record only to lose it the next week.

  4. That was sick! 🙂 My favourite sportsman of all time. Never got to watch him play 🙁 What an absolute HUMBLE champion! Was always about the team and never himself!

  5. Bird was an absolute boss.. Look it up. Bird literally ran the NBA for a decade. Its blows my mind how much the younger generation overlooks Bird.. The guy destroyed everyone.. Look it up.

  6. For me , to be considered the GOAT, you need that 1 intangible. The ability to deliver the absolute dagger in the heart shot with the clock running g dien to zero TIME AND TIME AGAIN. That's what separates Larry from everyone else . ASK ANY COACH OR FORMER PLAYER WHI THEY WANT TO SHOOT THE BSLL WITH 2 SECONDS LEFT IN A TIE GAME OR OT GAME AND THE HONEST ONRS WILL DAY NO.33 .LARRY WSS THE MSN WITH THE GAME AND SERIES ON THE LINE. 99 OUT OF 100 TIMES HE MAKES THE BACK BREAKER.

  7. I watched that Whole game in New Orleans when the Hawks played Boston and Bird Scored 60. Before Bird went to the foul line, he went over to the Hawks bench and said something to Joe O'Doul, the trainer. Next time Bird came up and shot that Rainbow and Fell into the Trainer "ODoul". That had to be staged. The shot wasn't though, It went In but refs didn't count it and I can't figure out Why not. I mean, Continuation was in play. Oh well. Heckofa shot.

  8. These clips would show one of the greatest games of Dominic, if Bird hadn't had a better game. WOW

  9. Dominique also had a great game 54 pts I think –it was a great game lucky enough to have seen it. Larry was just remarkable

  10. No doubt this is an amazing moment for Bird for all times. But, it's quite average when compared to Luka Doncic's 60-21-10 game.

  11. Here after Luka dropped 60/21/10. HAD to come watch this magic again so see who they’re comparing him too. 🗣️💯💪🏼

  12. Here's the 3 things that separate Luka from Bird..#1 Birds defense was superior, his hands were super quick and he could anticipate and read his opponents #2 his free throw shooting, he is way better at the line than Luka#3 his will to win is like nobody else in the NBA ever. So to me he is better than Doncic all around, and if wouldn't have been for his injured back, he would have shattered all the NBA records..Wilt would be 2nd in scoring,Stockton would be 2nd in steals & assist

  13. One thing that I've never seen anyone EVER say about this game is that the Celtics had the lead at the end and were intentionally fouling to get the ball back so Bird could score more. I love watching great players play and be entertained so I have zero problem with that, but can you imagine how people would react today if LeBron did that?

  14. Does anyone know who this play by olay announcer is? Call me crazy but almost sounds like a young John Sterling (yankees radio announcer)

  15. I like how you’re showing Wilkins too, he had a great game but it was Larry’s night and I was born and live in New Orleans and wish I could’ve went to this game. Born in ‘86

  16. I was blessed to have grown up watching these guys. I was a Knicks fan and always hated Bird. It wasn't until I was older that I appreciated how good he really was. Wasn't the greatest to ever play(cough…MJ), but better than anyone playing now for sure.

  17. I look at this old NBA games because I hear the crowds , the whole building is shaking , great moves by the players and of course Larry Bird is my favorite player , Go ahead Bird , teach them how to play extremely cool 😎🏀
