I think we should keep him, he keeps good energy in the locker room and come up big in some games(unless he asking for a crazy amount of money then sayonarašŸ˜‚)

Gotta sign him even if he’s not part of the plans moving forward. Can’t lose him for nothing. Still a very valuable role player to a team with championship aspirations.

    1. Trade Jaylen Brown for Zion Williamson Then… 2. Marcus Smart, s/t GRANT WILLIAMS for Gordon Hayward and 2024 first round pick.

    Robert Williams

    Zion Williamson

    Derrick White

    Jayson Tatum

    Malcolm Brogdon

Bench: Al Horford, Gordon Hayward, Justice Winslow (sign as free agent)

Celtics are in the drivers seat w Grant only an RFA. Just gotta see if anyone really wants him

  4. Timely-Permit1979

If he’s willing to take a team friendly deal then I’m all for it. But if he’s looking for 20 million he can go somewhere else.

  5. I_Set_3_Alarms

Sign him if he’s $20 million or less. With the new CBA rules, I think we can’t go that much lower than the money we send out in trades.

So even if you think $20 million is too much, it could be used in a trade later when paired with another contract. Could get us someone good, or Grant proves he’s worth his contract and we keep him

Anybody who can be traded should re-signed. Outside of luxury tax issues, there are limited benefits to let players who can at least be role players walk

  7. Machiniac

Wait and see what he gets offered then match.

    3 Years $12m – $15m / year

Contract friendly and a potential Trade Asset.

  9. freehugandkiss

Whatever is slightly above the full mle because nobody else will offer more.

He’s surprisingly good at guarding Giannis, which raises his value. I’d like to see him stick around for that reason alone. He’s excellent on catch and shoot 3s, but the rest of his offensive game isn’t great. Might be too short to ever be a great finisher around the basket.

Teams are always looking for 3&D guys. If they can sign him to a reasonable deal, it will be easy to trade him if it proves not to be a good fit.

I thought Joe should have played him more this year, but for whatever reason, he fell out of the rotation. That might have made him cheaper to resign though.

Hauser is on a super cheap deal and has shown potential. If Galinari has anything left in the tank, he could also take minutes from Grant. Muscala probably won’t be back, but he’s another shooter with size and he’s cheap.

I hope he stays, but if they opt not to sign him, they aren’t screwed. It’s not like he’s irreplaceable. He does bring a level of toughness and physicality that this team needs. He might not always play smart, but he always plays hard. He was huge in game 7 against the Bucks last year.

Brad has done a great job as GM so for, I trust his judgment. If they plan on resigning Jaylen, I think its a little less likely they keep Grant on a big deal.

I hope my Knicks sign him if y’all don’t keep him

  12. seasoned-veteran

He’s a restricted free agent, let him dangle and then probably match his best offer.

  13. donorak7

Dude has value and if we lose his and gain nothing that’s a real stupid play by our management.

  14. No-Macaron-9816

Sign him! He’s one of the few who plays with heart all the time.

  15. Ear_Enthusiast

He’s going to be a Houston Rockets next year.

  16. LGAMER3412

Resign him but not for $20 million a year

  17. Just match, I feel like no one is offering more than 15m after what happened in the playoffs/season

  18. JohnBagley33

He has really limited value and an even more limited number of teams who will be willing to pay him. A bad team is not giving him big money – he is not a franchise player. And a good team won’t have (or won’t be willing to pay him) $18M /year as a role player.

  19. havenothingtodo1

We gotta keep him, he’s an integral part of this team in so many ways. He’d be much harder to replace than I think most people realize

  20. Gotta keep him. I saw big growth this season and I think that is going to pay off.

  21. If he gets under 15 million a year, keep him and start him next to Timelord in the front court.

If he gets more, then flip Brogdon for a front court player

  22. Bewilderbeest79

Pray teams don’t offer him too much. Otherwise, we’re screwed

  23. justbrowsing987654

MATCH. Full stop. No conditions. He was instrumental in swarming KD and Giannis last year and shoots the 3 around 40%. He’s new wave PJ Tucker with the occasional ā€œI’m gonna make bothā€ clown-makeup. The Butler thing makes me like him more, he was the only one that showed any real heart.

  24. Georgia4life

Tbh I don’t think Grant wants to leave Boston. The city sort of fits who he is as in he’s book smart and enjoys basketball. He wants to win and have an impact. Obviously he can’t start on another team but won’t have as much success

  25. helt1skelt1

Sign him, he’s a good role player as long as he plays within his skillset like PJ Tucker. I honestly don’t know what Joe was thinking not playing him earlier.

  26. Quatro_Leches

sign and trade. people that think we should “run it back” are out of their minds. there should be a **new starter** on this team next year if we want to win a chip
