Always nice to see this. I wish Boone had articles that werent just “Hornets have tough choice between guard phenom Scoot and Alabama standout Miller.” But i also get that we dont really leak and he is the only beat reporter and has to keep his relationships.

It’s gotta be Scoot. I could see us drafting Miller as a Gordo replacement after his contract is up, but Scoot is ready to play now, has all the tangibles and intangibles you want in a player, and running with two ball handling guards is not going to be a problem. Especially if (when) we bring Miles back and if we are investing in PJ, Brandon Miller is yet another wing on a team full of them. We need better guard play. Just imagine the drive and kicks from Scoot to Melo, and the alleys from Melo to Scoot. A three-headed monster of Melo, Scoot, and Miles, with Mark anchoring the middle, sounds at very least fun to watch, at the very most a playoff team.

I feel like when you’re in the situation we are, perpetually bad and always trying to rebuild, you don’t try to draft for fit you just get the best player available and figure it out later. Scoot is the best player available.

At first when we got the number two pick I thought maybe Miller without thinking about the actual potential of scoot on our team. Can he be better and more well rounded Terry? Absolutely. Scoot is a no brainer for me at this point and I hope that the upcoming workouts prove that
