    I thought this was interesting:

*Another additional feature that is good for the Knicks is that the new CBA allows non-max players to sign an extension of up to five years. Under the old CBA, only max contract players could get a fifth-year extension. That means, the Knicks could choose to extend Immanuel Quickley for five years without having to give him a max contract.*

*This could also mean that Josh Hart, who everybody expects to opt out of the final year of his contract, could decide to opt-in so that he could be eligible for this level of extension from the Knicks that might pay him more money.*

I didnt know Hart would be eligible for 5 yr extension

  2. Knicks one of the teams that shouldn’t be impacted too much by the new CBA deal as they’re a team consisting predominantly of home grown/young players. Gotta give it to Leon and WWW (along with some thanks to Ainge for saving us from ourselves) very smart of them to be stingy with draft assets.

I think it’s terrible. One thing we’ve always had is money and an owner that would be willing to foot the bill to pay the luxury tax assuming we could get a front office worth a damn to get the star players in here.

Now we have a competent front office and the new CBA hits, effectively making the small market teams more competitive and reducing the strength of big market teams.

So now, we have the front office to build a championship team but the rules have changed eliminating any benefit to having our team in NY.
