So that's the reason he left? Brown leaving for the New York job was the most heartbreaking sports memory I can remember from my childhood.
Larry Brown wanted to coach the Knicks. Said it was his dream job. Brown was known for not staying in a job too long. I remember the ruckus that was started when he went to dinner with Pop during the finals. Though he won in 04, he was a very divisive figure.
