Kentavious Caldwell Pope responds to an interviewer: “I don’t think they did anything to take away anything… I don’t think that really mattered. It was all about our energy and effort we put out. We played a horrible game I would say, in my eyes and still almost won the game.”

  5. CallanD248

Damn, Nuggets are kinda low-key unlikable

  6. RedditAdminsGulpCum

Basketball Gods don’t like statements like some of the ones coming from the Nuggets.

This is the exact type of quote that will age badly

Says the man that fouled a Logo Lowry 3

Please let this be aged like milk material

I heard the same shit from the Celtics and look how that turned out. Heat are going to shock the world because nobody is giving them the respect they deserve when they’re playing them.

  11. jupiter__jaz

That’s what the Bucks, Knicks & Celtics fans kept saying too.

True Lakers taking the moral victory

They quite literally did slow the Nuggets offense down.

The pace was 86.50 in game 2 (slower than the DEADBALL ERA, for reference lmao) which the Nuggets played at a 95.56 pace all postseason and a 98.74 in the regular season.

Good defense does not always mean makes and misses., which is where you guys on here always get this wrong by constantly reciting the offensive rating.

Miami clogged up passing lanes, fronted Jokic to make his catches harder, threw different half court coverages like 1-3-1 out there to muddy passing reads, using Jimmy and Bam to guard the Murray/Jokic PnR, and played great transition defense limiting outlet passes.

All of these eat at the shot clock by not quickly giving up the quality looks Denver is looking for, limiting total possessions.

Also, all of this combined means Jokic is more inclined to iso and bully-ball in the post to try to score, which obv also eat at the shot clock.

This snail pace is exactly what Miami wants because that plays right into how they want to run their offense.
Because they know if they can control that and hit their 3’s, they have a chance.

I agree the team played like shit, KCP was one of the worst along with MPJ. But to say the heats adjustment did nothing is too much man, it very clearly did.

First time all playoffs I’d say denver has taken a punch in the mouth

How the tables turn. Denver 1 moral victory closer to their 1st chip

  16. turdfurgy69

We have become the one thing we swore never to be – lakers fans.

  17. Why is it that almost always role players start the beef? Williams and Horfort with the time-out sign poking the bear. Now KCP…

  18. Ahhh just make the Heat more motivated. I love it. From the press today Miami is all loose and Denver is just acting like they are one bad break away from being in their heads.

  19. killingstrangelove

Keep talking and underestimating the Heat. You’ll see what happens.

  20. flatironfortitude

Play better before you say stuff like this KCP you’ve been hot garbage in this series

  21. HazmatSamurai

KCP I love u, but not a fan of this comment.

Teams have been saying this the entire playoffs. ‘Miami didn’t do anything, we just played bad’….that’s the whole thing. Miami is tough and smart and disciplined and they MAKE you play bad.

  22. EnoughLawfulness3163

    “i wasn’t even trying bro”

  23. YayoBigChode

The series is now 1-1 in moral victories

  24. Yuca_Frita

Damn that’s actually impressive that Miami won game 2 despite the fact that they didn’t do anything to take away anything. What happens when the Heat start to do anything to take away anything?

  25. Coronabandkaro

Murray was the same too in his presser. He was talking about how they dominated 3 quarters. How about being outclassed in the 4th quarter 2 games in a row? Denver doesnt seem to have the intensity they showed against the Lakers.
