>Host William Lou speaks to Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews and The Urbonas Podcast. They discuss Raptors head coaching candidate Sergio Scariolo’s track record in European competition, what makes his management style unique, and how he would culturally assimilate into the NBA. They also discuss in general the hurdles European coaches face coming to the NBA, and finish with a short discussion of which European prospects could be signed as free agents or drafted.

LOL I had just mentioned this pod. It was illuminating. I’d encourage others to listen to it.

The stuff about always using a deep bench, and the anecdote about Sergio getting Spain’s 12th man important defensive assignments in big games should be music to our ears. Suggests to me he could be more of a developmental coach than we have been lead to believe, considering the work he’d have to put into developing our bench.

I genuinely believe that Scariolo will be our head coach and one of the other young candidates like Fernandez or Adelman as an associate head coach to take over when Scariolo wants to retire.
It’s no secret he’s a brilliant X’s and O’s coach who has had success everywhere he’s been.

If you look at a picture of him he just gives that genius feel. I don’t know why but I’d trust him with my life if I never knew who he was.
