The Charlotte Hornets Are About To Do It Again…

It’s being reported by NBA Central and The Ringer, that the Charlotte Hornets are favoring Brandon Miller at 2. This is even though it’s being said that Scoot Henderson would’ve gone number one in every one of the previous five drafts except the Zion year. Since the Hornets already have an all-star young guard in LaMelo Ball, many speculate Charlotte is drafting for fit. However, many teams have run multiple point guard sets (CP3-OKC, DEN Now) with success. Passing on the clear second-best prospect in Scoot would be a mistake. However, the Hornets have a lot of recent history of taking the wrong guy:

-Bouknight over many others (2021)
-Washington over Herro (2019)
-Bridges over SGA and MPJ (2018)
-Monk over Mitchell and Adebayo (2017)
-Kaminksy over Turner and Booker (2015)
-Vonleh over LaVine (2014)
-Kidd-Gilchrist over Beal and Dame (2012)

And it feels like they’re about to do it again. Let me know your thoughts!!!

Think about subbing, I’m on the road to 8k!!!

  1. To me it is positional needs not best player available because LaMelo is right there. They do not have a big man on their team. Give a few years because they are 20 years old

  2. I see your concerns about Charlotte, but knowing MJ, Miller grew up 150 miles from MJ's hometown, went to MJ's camps, MJ loves drafting for hometown regional player over best fit when that regional player is a highly touted pick. Miller also has a high ceiling too being 6'9 and can play 3 positions at the pro level, he's a good interview, a alpha dog and very mature like. Look at Charlotte's history taking the best available instead of best fit.. This team is in a bad log jam at wings for taking the best available at the time of selection than fit..power adequate. I prefer Scoot goes to a team where he the lead guard and that's a Toronto, Portland possibly if Dame is traded or Minnesota if that deal is true cuz Conley wants to play for his home state team now.

  3. If you were the pistons and scoot is available at 3 would you trade up with Portland and draft him and move Cade to the sf slot and run those 3 in a starting lineup?

  4. The Hornets could do what the kings did and trade Scoot a couple years down the line for a win now player and make the playoffs.

  5. I mean neither player has had their personal workout with Charlotte yet though so who knows who we will take
