I feel like grant would be a better option. He is stronger and a better defender in my opinion.

I am willing to pay more per year on a shorter deal. I don’t think there is a Chauncey Billups or younger Jeremi Grant in free agency that I believe will outplay their contract that much.

I would be fine with getting Grant and CP3. CP has a tendency to make the youth better. Look at what he did with SGA and Book. He mentored them and now they’re better than they were. For this, I’d move Cade to the 2 (or 1b) and Ivey to the bench at the 2.

Agree with you about our free agent signing. We should get a younger good player who might be a star. The investment is well worth it.
Seeing that tobias is making 37 mill to be a 3 and no D wing, I'd go as high as 32 mill a season. I'd also structure the contract where he gets 70% of his money the first 2 years so if we need to trade him his contract would be more flexible. Also when it come time to pay cade, ivy and duren we won't be over the salary cap. People complain about grant but he's actually became more efficient being in Portland. I feel more comfortable paying grant 32 than Johnson 25.
I not high on drafting 2 more 19 year olds. You keep saying you want the team to start winning adding more young players and trading good vets leads to more losing.
It's funny Bojan wasn't known as a terrible defender or even a liability on defense until Detroit. Could Bojan's defense could be a product of the overall bad defense of the Pistons. Jazz had him starting for years and was still a top defensive squad and a winning squad with him as a starter. We didn't even get to really see what Bojan could do for a player like Cade. Trade the near 50/40/90 whose an elite shooter and grab another 19 year old who won't have 😮 serious contribution for years. Detroit has two quality vets and everyone wants to trade the best one. 😂😂😂

5 for Keldon Johnson and a 2024 1st rounder from Spurs sounds like great trade to me.
