Was the trade a mistake?
It sucks cus eg is not even bad he just makes a lot of money and of course having that draft pick would’ve been nice, I think there’s possibly teams that are looking to get off of money such as Atlanta(John Collins) where u could get some sort of value for Gordon, so we’ll see how creative the clippers get because we got him and 3 tradeable firsts (pick 30, 2028 and 2030 firsts) btw I’d like to see a video where u go over draft targets soon
The Luke Kennard trade was not a mistake, the mistake was trading Kennard for an old out of shape short player, that’s the mistake, while pushing the draft position down to 30.
I'll tell you. It was a mistake, b/c once Russ came in (as good as he was) EJ was no longer the same player. His value to the team did not improve when Russ came. You alluded to his game in PHX before the break. He would have been really good, but that combination nullified the potential of the trade. But Russ and Luke… that might have been something. trade was good . eric gordon was a good trade for last season. for next season we let him go. now we can trade that pick with a morris or a covington to free up cap. i believe that trade was more for next season not last season. luke seemed like a great guy. i just didnt like his contract.
I am really confused , because you say that you are a defense first guy, but then you say that you want Luke and Russ paired together in the backcourt?? That would have been disastrous
It was a hugh mistake, for 2 main reasons. Luke is a great 3 point shooter, and is still young. But most importantly was the pick swap, which will hurt us going forward.
If we never signed Russ it would’ve been a solid trade. Once they signed Russ we had too many guards again. As a great of a shooter luke was injury prone, very passive on offense and was a below average defender. Plus Ty Lue wasn’t gon use kennard potential.
