The Charlotte Hornets have been a team attempting to break through in the NBA over the past half decade with the free agent acquisitions of Gordon Hayward and Terry Rozier. They then drafted Miles Bridges and introduced an error of drafting and developing talent that could one day help this proud franchise to ascend in this League. They tried out a developmental coach but was unsuccessful in creating an identity of winning and accountability that they were needed for their talent to embody. In comes Head Coach Steve Clifford to help provide the accountability for a team that despite it’s talent has struggled to turn it into a playoff appearance. LaMelo Ball leads a team that has grown over the past few seasons and now looks to it’s own roster of talent and the draft for the answers to its playoff drought. With the returns of Miles Bridges and Caleb Martin, development of players like Mark Williams and JT Thor, and lastly the catalyst of imminent drafting of Scoot Henderson this roster will be looking to make their triumphant return to the big stage of the NBA Playoffs.

Top tier analysis. if the hornets draft scoot Henderson they become extremely scary overnight.
That's 3 potential stars in scoot, lamelo, & bridges combined with defensive center developing into a monster in mark Williams & pj Washington sitting at that PF spot.
But their bench will be lethal too with Terry rozier, Gordon Hayward & Cody Martin coming off it 🔥🔥🔥

I totally agree. Just all these people wanting us to pick Brandon Miller or worse trade the #2 pick getting to me lol. I want the draft over and to have scoot on the squad already!? Do you think we trade terry if scoots the pick? I also can’t wait to see what we do with bridges,pj and oubre.
The team has an abundance of talent. Missing martin and bridges last year hurt, but heres another piece that makes scoot the perfect fit. Lamelo being out so much last year hurt more than missing miles and martin. Scoot can competently run the point if melo gets hurt again and he is basically melo insurance, on top of his skillset pairing well with melo when melo is playing.
As a Charlotte native we are in NEED of lengthy playoff runs.. PLEASE

The blueprint for the Charlotte hornets is draft scoot Henderson and draft dariq whitehead in Charlotte. Trade veterans for draft capital and play the youth and draft playmakers and wing players in Charlotte. Resign Miles bridges and PJ Washington to reasonable deals

They could definitely make the playoffs next year in the east. You might as well go after a Center like Vuce, who gives u more upside and brings something different than Mark Williams. Either that or overpay a young talent and shoot for the stars.
I’ve been saying this. Miller is not the guy for us. He might be a good pro but scoot is one of the best guard prospects in the last 10 years. A lot of drafts he would’ve went 1st overall. And that’s the thing you keep hearing teams trying to trade up to get scoot you aren’t hearing teams trying to trade up for Brandon Miller that should tell you something. Hopefully with both their workouts coming soon we can start to gage what Mitch is gonna do

Think about it this way, this same team was in the play in tournament two years in a row before losing Miles and having a ton of injuries last year. The only differences this coming year will be: 1. Internal development of all the young players including LaMelo 2. Mark Williams at center instead of Mason Plumlee or Zeller (fixes the main problem with those earlier teams – interior defense) 3. Scoot Henderson on the roster.
How is that team not at least a high end play in team? I don’t get all the hate from the national media and other channels saying we’re sunk, in worse shape than Detroit, Houston, San Antonio, etc.
The return of Caleb Martin? He signed a 3 year contract with Miami that doesn’t expire until after 2025. I think you meant Cody Martin is returning. They’re twins. I get it.
I think that would say a lot about how they feel about LaMelo. LaMelo sharing point guard responsibilities with a true point guard? Scoot's nice but Grizzlies wouldn't draft him. I'm not saying LaMelo's on Ja's level but wasn't he projected to be on that type of trajectory? The team's been a mess while he's impressed but I'm not sure LaMelo's proven to be, undoubtedly, the franchise. Is he the franchise or an entertaining placeholder until they find a true superstar? I think he'd be electric with the right team so I think they should draft Amen Thompson

Brandon is a better fit imo
6'9" compared to 6'2",threat from deep compared to the no outside pressence by scoot , not terrible ball handling although in this case we would be comparing it to amazing ball handling but the downside being he is so ball heavy I don't see how him and ball coexist.
He is definitely a better fit in portland, trade dame to miami and build around scoot

I agree with everything you said, Mark will also get opportunities when someone is trying to defend Miles and Martin. You never mentioned Kai Jones, which I think will be tremendous talent if they give up on him too soon.
