Portland would have to be really dumb to offer the #3 and Simons for Jaylen, who can just leave after one year and wouldn't make them a contender. But if Portland WOULD do it, take it and run like a thief in the night. You can keep either the pick or Simons, then flip the other asset in a package for a big like Ayton, Myles Turner or KAT
I like Anfernee but why not Dame since he wants to win now and he compliments Tatum. That’s why I want KAT too. He would compliment Tatum and give us paint points.

now that KAT is available, it should be all in Brown for KAT
simons, little plus 3rd AND 23rd for brown. then trade the 3rd for franz wagner, carter jr. plus 6th and 11th picks.
A three pick for a guy that was a 3 pick that's about to leave in a year and chokes in big games is the correct answer. This would be a great deal for the Celtics. I don't think Simons is a future all star but he is a few years younger than JB so he might still have some upside. Do the deal for the #3 pick, try out Simons for a year and trade him if he doesn't improve the team. Having two guys on the roster making a max deal doesn't work unless it's Wilt and Oscar, or Magic and Kareem, or Duncan and Robinson and Tatum and Brown aren't on that level and all those other guys would have less rings if they took up as much of the payroll as Tatum and Brown are expecting to do. It's time for Brown to move on.
I would do the extension first and I would move him for the 3, Simmons and either Grant or Nurkic, we can include one of the 3 guards, Smart Brogdan or White. Grant would help resolve the Horford/Grant Williams. Because its likely to be Scoot you absolutely could not keep the 3 guards and might need to move 2 of them. Its essential they deal with the Horford issue. He is one is the worst starters in the league and gave them almost zero production in huge minutes. He must be on the bench. Rob is also incredibly unreliable so the Nurkic move I think also makes sense and gives them great depth he is also on a great contract.
