Former NBA player and addict Lamar Odom, who has turned his life around and owns several rehab centers, is currently helping Bam Margera with his addiction…

Lamar Odom was a key player on the Lakers when they won back to back championships in ’09 and ’10, he eventually lost everything due to addiction.

He has been able to turn his life around, and today his focus is on helping other people struggling with addiction. He currently owns several rehab centers, and plans on opening more.

He has vowed to be highly involved with the patients at the facilities, and two days ago Bam Margera shared a picture with Lamar Odom next to his hospital bed, as he was initiating the rehab process.

Great news for Lamar and hopefully its going to end well for Bam as well.

Damn, he looks like some old tatted up Mexican/homie guy now…can’t even tell that it’s Bam if you didn’t tell me😬

  2. PersonFromPlace

Man I hope this helps. From the small clips I’ve seen, Bam knows all the things to say to manipulate his loved ones around him to keep his lifestyle. Things like >!“just let me have my fun or just drown me in the pool because I want to die.”!<

Gonna put it on spoiler in case stuff like this is triggering for anyone who’s had to deal with people in this situation before.

Wake up on a Saturday peruse the ole Reddit app. Make some comments. See this. Love this. Addiction isn’t anything to take lightly. I’ve seen it in my family and I’ve seen the damage it does. Getting better is the hardest part

Odom was a great player in his heydays, especially in those Kobe-Pau Lakers. A perfect third string, really smart player. He was who Ben Simmons thinks he is. Glad to hear that he’s doing well.

Let’s go LO. One of the best point forwards of his era, he’d be even more insane if he played now.

Man this makes me happy. As someone who grew up watching loved ones destroy themselves with drugs , it sucked to see one of my favorite celebrities from my childhood doing the same. I couldn’t even watch the last few videos of him. Too depressing

Hope the candy man can save this dude he seems hopeless

Ngl- I didn’t know the whereabouts of Lamar and I was expecting for the worth when I started reading this post but wow, I am so happy.

Good for Lamar. Happy he’s got things turned around.

  10. Happy for Lamar but god damn every time this topic gets brought up, Stephen A’s clip comes to mind real quick.

Positive news! As a recovering addict, I love this.

I like the optimism everyone has in this thread, and anything is possible I suppose, but I sincerely doubt this does anything to change Bams behaviour.

Title reads as though Bam is an NBA addict. Bit like myself

  14. captnmiss

Odom seems to have turned it around after having a life-changing ibogaine experience

I truly hope that he is using the tools that worked for him in these centers. That would be a beautiful thing and a great way for his story to evolve

Dude Lamar’s turnaround from his near death experience is insane! I’m happy for the baller

He was amazing on Big Brother. I knew who he was and his struggles prior, but it wasn’t until BB that I really saw WHO he actually is. Such a cool, sweet, wonderful man.

  19. It’s a miracle Odom is alive right now.
    Share that blessing!

Glad Bam is getting help again, he had gone off all treatment programs and was living with a “shaman” where they did like ayahuasca together, obviously a timebomb

  21. AstridsDad

That’s good to hear. Wishing the best for both

  22. Revo_Int92

That’s good to hear, both Lamar and Bam were part of my childhood, sucks to see them struggling with addiction, but at least they are trying to get better

  23. Flaky-Parsnip9737

Amazing what detoxing from the Kardashians will do for your life.

  24. Yami_Hear

I honestly thought Lamar Odom was dead.. this is nice to see

  25. jmac1908

This was so awesome to see. LO was one of my favourite Lakers and no way we win those two titles without him. What do other Lakers fans think about retiring his jersey? He may not have been as good as Gasol, but he was here longer and a very key piece to that Lakers run.

Lamar: C’mon Bam, I got work in the morning

    Bam: :Keeps on punching Lamar:

  27. Phillip_Lipton

Odom looks shockingly like Romelu Lukaku.

He also looks incredible for the rollercoaster he’s been on.

Wish the man nothing but the best.

  28. petarisawesomeo

Glad to hear Lamar is doing well and in a better place in life

  29. Anytime I see LO’s name I get anxious. I’m glad he’s doing well

  30. rawonionbreath

“Turned his life around” can almost be applied literally. It’s a miracle he’s alive from that overdose. Glad to see he’s not taking the second chance for granted, since so many ex athletes end up divorced and bankrupt.

  31. That’s really cool how much Lamar is doing now to help.

  32. Zeppelanoid

Saw a video of Bam recently where he was threatening his child’s mother, saying that unless she lets him visit his child he was going to just go smoke crack until he died.

He looked to be in a bad, bad spot. Hopefully he gets the help he needs!
