What’s even worse is that he has taken 25 midrange shots while shooting 20%, while Harden shot 50% from midrange but only took 22 midrange shots. I have no idea why Harden doesn’t shoot them more often
I don’t think it’s valuable to talk about raw dollars, rather than what he would make proportional to the cap. I think people use the raw dollar values for shock value more than anything else.
Do I think Maxey is worth 25% of the salary cap right now? Honestly, probably not. But he is good enough to the point where he could be worth it, so I think it’s worth the shot. Seems like a fairly low risk move, imo.
That’s 2.2 attempts per game lol.
Glenn didn’t run offense for Maxey, so Maxey had very little to work with scheme wise and basically had to figure out his offense on his own. An actual coach would have the common sense to make scoring the ball much easier for someone as talented as Maxey, so I expect his mid-range game will improve drastically.
Sample size is small enough to where 20% is obviously an outlier. But him struggling vs Boston has been true for his career, but at least his games 5 and 6 were in the right direction. He’s been bad vs their length and perimeter defense even with great looks off Joel and Harden, and I think him improving his handle and decision-making would go a long way to fixing that (ie: making the right pass when Timelord comes over to help instead of challenging a 7 foot freak athlete over and over)
Maxey is not worth a max contract. Getting downvoted on r/Sixers just means you are right because these mfers DO NOT KNOW BALL. Same assholes who swore up and down Tobi was a solid second option, then a good third option, then the world’s best fourth option.
He’s not worth it but he’s gonna get paid more than Poole or Herro because his efficiency is great, his improvement is great, and everyone seems to love him. So is he worth 200 mill? No, but he’s probably worth 150 mill and that’s what he should get.
Well I just wished he showed some improvement in having more than 3 moves
He has a floater, a lay-up and a 3 point shot. That’s all he has in his inventory besides the super rare step-back jumper
I love the kid but no, he hasnt really shown the drive to get better every day
Jalen Hurts changed things, it shows that if you do love the game and are a student always trying to get better, hard work pays off. His completion percentage and capabilities jumped each year. I just dont see that with Maxey
Yes.
He was exposed in Celtic series. Couldnβt finish anything whatsoever. Doesnβt have the explosion. Will have to find different ways to attack.
