Adrian Wojnarowski reported today that Fred VanVleet is declining his player option heading into free agency this summer. This in combination with a multitude of other reports indicates Fred VanVleet will likely be on a new team next season. Ben Rogers breaks it all down.

I've never wanted to rebuild so bad it seems like there is no way to get out of this mediocrity other than a full rebuild around scottie and whoever we pick this year. Fred is just the beginning. We've had some fun years but it is time to start from the bottom

FVV should play for a contender, I don't mind seeing the youngboys develop under Darko
Players are assets and like Lowry, the Raptors are wise to fulfill a sign and trade if both parties want new directions. Much of his shooting % last season was due to end of shot clock possessions where guys like Precious bailed on an open look and deferred to FVV. Playing 38-39 minutes/game without a legit back up guard or center is on management.
