'07 was def the worst finals, at least that I have seen
People forget that the Heat, with basically the same roster, last year was a n1 seed and best 3 point shooting team in the league. They had a rough year, lost their rhythm, a lot of injuries, but got back to their game in the playoff. Of course, the Nuggets are so much better, but the Heat did not just have some random luck to get to the finals
rusty buckets makes a good point, whenever the heat are favored to NOT win they still somehow find a way to win, and statistically the knicks were the hardest because they’re not the same team caliber as the bucks and celtics
In terms of runs of the past 15 years this chip goes in front of lebron’s back 2 backs in Miami🤷🏽♂️
You shouldn’t be surprised Kenny. There’s a lot of people out there that don’t know basketball and the nuances associated with it. They’ll say anything to validate what they “want” to be true, which leads to them overestimating or falsifying their points in the vein of wanting to be right.
These finals are more X and O’s than usual. It’s a bit tougher to watch from a casual basketball fan point of view
It just kills me watching the Heat miss these shots against the Nugget that they were punishing people with in the first two rounds. If just three or four of those missed shots went down we'd be having conversations about a seven-game series.
I'm a Heat fan, I love Jamal Murray and respect to the Nuggets. I haven't enjoyed these Finals at all, they're pretty boring. I don't have a reason to justify why they're boring but they just are. I really enjoyed the Warriors vs Celtics last year. I don't need anybody telling me I'm not a real basketball fan just cause I think these Finals are boring, people are allowed to have varied opinions
The seeding argument is dumb for a number of reasons. 1 they literally faced the two highest seeds they could through the second round. They are the 1 seed so they’ll automatically face the 8 seed in rd 1, then they faced the highest possible seed in rd 2 (which majority of people expected to beat them). They couldn’t exactly face the 2 seed since that 2 seed got man handled by the 7 seed that also beat the defending champs( a lot of people took LA to win that series as well). And well the heat showed that they were the better performers in the East so they’re facing the best performing team from the east that beast the 1 seed, 2 seed and 5 seed. They beat almost every highest seed they could only one that isn’t is the 5 seed that could been a 4 seed, but besides that they faced the best possible team they could every round. I’d say its about an average ring for the nuggets since you can really only face who’s given to you and they had to win to get there. They just are the best team in the league at the moment.
When the nuggets win the finals I better hear Aaron Gordon’s song everywhere 🤣
I think NBA fans want the main characters of the finals. When Jordan didn't go back to finals in 1999, the viewership was low. If Jordan went back in 99, then the ratings go up. Nobody's going to remember the 1999 Spurs vs Knicks. People want to see icon matchups like 80s Lakers vs Celtics, and Bulls vs Jazz. Back then those games were close. Nobody wants to watch a blowout game.
People been spitting this “This is the easiest path to a finals win” ever since Golden State won in 2015. If anybody wins that’s not LeBron “it’s too easy”

Some of these takes on online and in the comments for that matter have been absurd fr. As a Laker fan I can say without a shadow of the doubt the Nuggets deserved to make it to the finals because the team was that great and they had time to build a cohesive unit. Also people shouldn’t take the seeding to heart since teams changed or injuries happened that caused teams to fluctuate when it came down to the final record before the end of the season. Lakers are a perfect example as in the first half of the season we were a struggling team that didn’t have a well built roster and loss a lot of games in the beginning. Then when trade deadline rolled around we were finally able to a comple and cohesive team and became a top team in the league after all Star break. Since the team was playing catch up with our bad record we were only able to get the 7th seed ultimately but the true value of the squad was like West top 3-5 for sure since the West is competitive. Even though it was a tough loss to the Nuggets, I was still proud that we made it this far to begin with and that I didn’t mind losing to a great team like the Nuggets. Something people forget is that the Nuggets not only had the talent and well built roster but they also had the team chemistry to have a fluid and efficient team play which is why they were able to make it look “easier” when they faced their opponents because they had that advantage.
Many people had the TIMBERWOLVES beating the Nuggets, the Suns beating the Nuggets AND the Lakers beating them. Now the narrative is: they had an easy road because they faced an 8th seed, Chris Paul-less suns and a 7th seed Lakers. How easily people flip flop

Its wild to me that both teams are getting dissed. An 8 seed brawls their way to the finals and a 1 seed plays amazing team ball to also make the finals. Ive really enjoyed the playoffs but damn, other people are really trying to ruin it for me
Anyone who thinks this finals is boring just doesn’t enjoy watching basketball. Denver is playing incredible team basketball. Comparable to the 2014 Spurs in my opinion.

my western conference pick to make the finals was the nuggets before the season started. i’m so happy people finally can see that they’re the best team in the league with the best player too.
Give me 2020 over this one, so far. But sometimes finals just aren’t fun, enjoyed watching Denver operate however

Twitter clowns talking about denver beating a 7 seed lakers yet those lakers beat a 2 seed and a 4 seed. Meaning their seeding didn’t mean jack. Same applies to miami, if an 8 seed made it to the finals that says alot about said team and just shows they were better than their competition
