This Is The BIGGEST Change Darko Rajakovic Will Bring To The Raptors

The Toronto Raptors are ready to make some big changes after making Darko Rajakovic their next head coach. The former Memphis Grizzlies assistant’s coaching style is very different from what Nick Nurse brought to the team, but what exactly should Raptors fans specifically expect as far as changes go?

Darko Rajakovic is ready to instill a different sense of culture in this team and will surely put a larger focus on development, but where he might see the largest difference is the way in which the offense is run. There are some extremely interesting numbers about the way Rajakovic has used his offensive weapons in the past whether it was with the Grizzlies or with the Phoenix Suns that you need to see.

To put it simply, Raptors fans can expect to see some HUGE changes to their team.

  1. I just hope he has more focus on player development than nick nurse did. The organization had one of the best player development systems in the league until nurse took over

  2. NN with a new podcast video.. Seems like he’s busy enjoying the spotlight more than getting to work, as expected..

  3. He's probably just relieved to be away from a player as hard as Ja Morant. Ja is just too intimidating lol

  4. Great video as always. I honestly think they move towards rebuilding, not only given that Dark is more of a player/development coach, but also because of the looming contract situations e.g, Fred VanVleet.

  5. the thing about his "player development skills" is that its way different being a AC than HC, hes not going to have the same development effects. HC's work on team skills and schemes and the AC's are the ones that work with players 1on1

  6. I really think we need to make a swing at drafting higher via a trade and I think ppl know what I mean if I say my dream backcourt would be Scoot, Simons and Barnes. This would be a total rebuild and see FVV, OG and Pascal leave; that core isn't better than a 2nd round exit anyway.

  7. Lmfao nurse is literally one of the best coaches in the league. Why the raptors scaped goat nurse was terrible smh. Nurse wasn't the problem. He did what he can with raps roster. Why you think ALL the contending teams were so interested in having nurse as their coach. No idea what new coach brings to table, but happy it's him and not Sergio. Raptors management clearly has no f'ing idea what they want to do. Even tho the answer is right in front of their face. Roster isn't good enough to compete, star player is heavily overrated. It's clearly time to start over and rebuild. Management can't see it smfh

  8. lol FVV can only pass to Yak. Tells you FVV is not as good in pick and rolls as he has Siakam and Barnes who can also attack the rim. By the way, Darko wants his player to make quick decisions with the ball. Unlike FVV who likes to pound the ball as he "looks" for a play to develop

  9. If your a coach and any your last resort is to take it out of house and not with upper management or an inhouse meeting, Shows poor character and a lack of professionalism that should be peerless in the position. Hearing all the shit he talked out of house, I'm glad Nick Nurse is gone. The last think ANY franchise needs is a toxic locker room with a me first mentality especially one with an organization that isn't one of the premier places to play ( it should be because it's a large market team) So glad Raptors ditched dysfunctional Nurse and hopefully Rajakovic can bring back that shine and work ethic the Toronto Raptors and known for to develop players in a successful system.

  10. I think i saw at least 80% of NN post game interviews last season. I don't recall him throwing any players under the bus. I've not heard any players come out and say a bad word against him.
The roster wasn't quite good enough last season, which wasn't helped with the injuries. That led to more pressure to win games down the stretch, so any sensible coach would stick with the players he trusts.
He wanted Dowtin jr for the playoffs but management didn't make it happen.
Holding players accountable isn't throwing them under the bus. If NN isn't a development coach, then how come Raptors have quality players now that played for him in the G league?
Good luck to Darko. He seems to have much of the same qualities NN does. We will soon find out if it translates into success as head coach in NBA

  11. darko voiced his opinions on reducing turnovers and he fits the raptors perfectly

  12. I think they got a great coach, based upon what you have shared! I also think JJ Redick, and Nash could certainly be some terrific possible options as assistants.
