Jayson Tatum had a very good season by most measures, but there is still a lot he can do to be better. John Karalis of Boston Sports Journal and Tom Westerholm discuss his strengths and weaknesses, and the things he can do to join the Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and the true MVP contenders in the NBA. That includes a focus on attacking, a couple less 3-pointers, and maybe even adding a post game.

I just want Tatum to find his own shot. Not the step backs and the cross overs that don’t go anywhere. The pick and roll is bread and butter for Joker and Murray. Him and brown or him and White gotta find that sweet spot for him. That one move he hit that looked like Kobe turn around 2 was beautiful when he hit it.
If he stops melting like 🍦🍦🍦in the playoffs …!
I just want them to win…
Congratulations to the Denver Nuggets, the 2023 NBA Champions! Also, congratulations to Bruce Brown, who is originally from Boston for winning a ring!
Here's how JT gets to mvp level;
1. get surgery on that injured wrist so he can fix his shooting splits which was bad last season.
2. get off the ball more and play in the mid-range/post more. he needs to be a zone-breaker as we will continue to play miami and their zone every year.
3, make a concerted effort to be more vocal leadership-wise.
I still can't get over game 7 against Miami.
JT needs to get better with his handles, passing, team defense and shot selection. Cut down on the threes. Nothing wrong taking elbow jumpers.
Shouldn’t Tatum have gotten surgery on that left wrist by now? Or does he need it at all? Maybe he just needs rest? Anyway, hopefully they watched how the Nuggets attacked the zone, Tatum needs to live in the mid post next season, against man or zone. Analytics kinda killed his game, it’s easy to guard when you know he’s either gonna take the step back three or try to get all the way to the cup.
I love that Tom keeps this re-occurring thing effing with John about “playing back in the day”
Any truth to what I constantly see on the Celtics subreddit that Tatum needs wrist surgery and that’s why he’s inconsistent?
I think analytics need a revisit. The micro interactions related to individual players don't seem to be modeled properly.
