There is no shortage of suitors for Mikal Bridges this off-season and Adam is joined by Joe Mullinax from Locked On Grizzlies to illustrate just that. Back at the NBA trade deadline it was reported Memphis offered four first rounders for Mikal Bridges, and Joe now believes the Grizzlies could be willing to add Tyus Jones, Santi Aldama and Ziare Williams to sweeten the deal.
The guys discuss why Memphis would love to pair Mikal with their young core, and why the Nets would be hard pressed to make the deal.
They then move into very exciting territory, looking at Dorian Finney-Smith and Royce O’Neil packages that might yield draft capitol, a starting PG and low-cost talent for Brooklyn to build with.
Its a great discussion from teams on two different timelines, and how value truly is in the eye of the beholder.

Hello everyone. This is very interesting to discuss about possible deals between Brooklyn and Memphis.
First the young players that could be offered with those four first round draft picks for Mikal Bridges would be a steal for a team that's rebuilding fully. Unfortunately that's not enough. Tyus Jones might have potential but a long term investment? Don't buy it. The draft capital would move Brooklyn up to the top of the league in picks… That's the only positive of going down that route.
But Mikal Bridges is a cornerstone for Brooklyn so no deal…. 🔥
As far as Brooklyn staying competitive they could do some business with the grizzlies. Memphis is facing a very uncertain future with not having Ja Morant for half the season potentially and Dillon Brooks not coming back. That puts a lot of pressure on Desmond Bane and tyus Jones to carry this team.
This benefits Brooklyn who has veteran pieces they could use. Royce o Neale and Dorian Finney Smith from a defensive and character standpoint would fit the culture of Memphis perfectly. But Brooklyn would want significant role players back plus draft capital if they went that route.
So let's look at a possible deal:
Brooklyn Nets: Steven Adams ( 18 million trade exception) Brandon Clarke and a first round draft pick.
Memphis grizzlies: Joe Harris Royce o Neale and Patty Mills…
Brooklyn needs a solid backup center behind Nic Claxton. Adams fits that bill and was a defensive anchor for Memphis last season. Without him the grizzlies lost their defensive identity. He fits under Brooklyn big trade exception as well.
Brandon Clarke is currently out due to Achilles tendon surgery but he was showing a lot of potential and is a young player who can be impactful defensively and offensively. So while Adams can help be a short term gap to Claxton Clarke would be a long term investment piece for Brooklyn.
And if Brooklyn can get a draft pick out of that it would be a sweetener….
Ultimately Brooklyn can get some expiring vet contracts off their books and bring on a defensive center whose a good veteran presence and a skilled prospect in Clarke. Not bad business honestly….
On a side note congrats to Denver Nuggets! Nikola Jokic is a rare generation talent who traded in a MVP trophy for a NBA championship and MVP finals trophy instead 🔥.
Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr came back from career threatening injuries and carried the burden and played elite basketball as well.
And the veteran cast of Aaron Gordon Bruce Brown Jeff Green KCP and Reggie Jackson all contributed and added to the collective 🔥. Well earned….
But specifically looking at talent Brooklyn would want besides draft capital Steven Adams is a top option. He fits under the Brooklyn 18 million trade exception and he would be a defensive anchor for Brooklyn's second unit. Plus rebounding is one of Adams specialties and that would definitely help Brooklyn rebounding numbers increase.
Aa far as the Damian Lillard trade saga goes Miami Heat does not have the draft assets to entice Portland and adding Tyler Herro on a four year extension with a busted hand is not exactly a fruitful package.
Ultimately Brooklyn has all the cards and if Damian Lillard requests a trade the ball 🏀 is truly in Brooklyn's court…
Jaren Jackson Jr and Desmond Bane are off limits. Tyus Jones would only be traded if Mikal Bridges was available which is not happening.
That leaves Steven Adams (18 million trade exception) and Brandon Clarke as the only players Brooklyn could acquire and add to their depth…..
Now do i want to see Dorian Finney Smith get traded? No because his defensive value is so important. But if Memphis is willing to offer two first round draft picks which would only strengthen a possible Damian Lillard trade package then Brooklyn should consider trading Dorian…
However Royce o Neale has a bigger chance of getting traded for draft capital or to acquire a key role player….
Luke kennard??? How about Steven Adams…. 🤔
Look at how all Memphis defensive and rebounding numbers fell without Adam's in their rotations. Brooklyn needs height rebounding defense and veteran experience. Steven Adams checks ✅✅✅ ✅ all those boxes.
Mark Williams come to the Nets
I hope nets fans watched this playoffs closely. Miami and Denver both built thru the draft and were patient. The two biggest stars on both teams were out of the lottery as well. We dont need a dame trade we need development and smart drafting
Lmao side note to grizzlies fans mikal bridges value is higher than jaylen browns on the trade market rn. This is a league that adjusts pretty rapidly what bridges did in the 2nd half in bkn showed a ceiling that brown has never shown in boston. Not to mention bridges is on a far cheaper deal considering brown is up for a supermax. You're not getting bridges unless you included desmond bane. So That's dead
Those Memphis picks are terrible because with this trade Memphis is a playoff team for a long time
because what are they going to be pick 17 to 25 at best the next 5 years with Mikal Bridges on there team
I dont agree with Claxton maybe not being the future of this team. He’s definitely the future of this team and in fact I’d rather keep him than Bridges. Hes homegrown talent and shows elite defense and finishing and is still really young.
