I will be discussing the latest hire by the Raptors and that is their Grizzlies assistant coach Darko Rajakovic. I will discuss several factors which makes him a great coach for the Raptors as well as talk about what he has done not only in the NBA but with the grizzlies as well. I asked a friend who knows a lot about the NBA. He was disappointed with this move, and said it is because the Raps org. is just cheap.

I do think this is a good decision.. I would imagine we got him on the cheap. Well as far as coaching goes
Good news all around. Precious is the next JJJ or close to it. Scotie is going to develop a better handle and be involved in more PNR with Jak. Couple other guys from the bench will develop for sure. This can most definitely propel the Raps in top-4 in the east next season if all goes well with draft, FA and trades. Fingers-crossed 🙂
Darko will be a great coach. I think it means a rebuild is coming. Good choice.
Give him a chance. Alloy of the younger grizzlies players say he’s good a developing younger players. Guys like Flynn, Banton and weiskamp could benefit from him. I just hope he doesn’t do what nurse does burying players, having favourites and bringing a toxic environment.

Raps always go against the odds
I'm always surprised by the decisions Masai makes, and it usually ends up with results that far exceed what I was expecting. Although I personally wanted Sergio since it's reported that he plays up to 12 players, so you know guys would be getting play time and developing, I'm expecting something really good to come from Darko getting the job.
Just the beginning of an exciting offseason ! This ensures the Raptors will play some different basketball, new schemes , a new core to play this season !
If anyone can unlock the potential of Flynn and Banton its this guy. Same with Precious. Nurse had problems bringing up the new guys and relied to heavily on his vets. Good hire.
I am all for Pascal to Portland for #3, Sharpe and their young guard.. or similar. Opens up the foward spot for OG, Pascal is 29, our amazing young roster with Pittland additions then maybe more from.Fred and Trent in sihn snd trades… instsntly a good young team with huge upside.
Don't know if I would have picked Darko. So looks like a rebuild.

So, based on his background, what made him a better choice over Jerry Stackhouse? Similar background, and Stackhouse had G League success within the Raptors organization with many of the current players, including their free agents. Hope he does well, but I wish they would have given Stackhouse a chance.
1 cog in place. Next the support staff. Followed by the draft. This will give some idea what the approach for 23 – 24 will be. Then summer tryouts, determining the role of the 905.
Determining the futures of: Banton, Precious, Flynn, Boucher, Koloko. Massive decisions on Trent and Van Vleet. Building a core around Scotty, Ananouby, Poetl and Siakam. Improving bench production. All aspects of shooting, opening the lanes, developing desiginated 3 pt options. Learning to defend against big men.
