This is the best outcome, hope it works out and actually happens

what does that mean? 2 years 90, with a 3rd year team option/partial guarantee?

No deal that results in James Harden being on this team next year makes sense.

***Breaking News:*** Basketball Teams want to make good deals with players that benefit them in the present and future.

Not sure how us signing a declining Harden long term works out for our side. 2 year deal, sure. 4-5? Hell na.

Translation: they want to pay him when he’s the most effective and not pay him when he’s less effective. Makes sense to me. It might conflict with James Harden’s desire to be paid when most effective and still paid after that, though.

This is the most meaningless headline ever

  9. The on-the-court reasons to keep Harden are debatable.

However, there are salary cap reasons to want to retain him. The Sixers lose the money if he walks since they’re over the cap. The ideal scenario would be to sign him to a reasonable contract, which allows the Sixers to essentially keep that money, but also use him as a trade asset if needed since it’s presumably a tradeable contract.

part of me wants him to walk but also being able to have chemistry and time with a team more than 1-2 is important imo…. I just can’t forget how he played that last series like dude looked amazing one game and looked like he had bread on boston the next smh

  11. Let’s just work a sign and trade for CP3 and call it a day :/

This is ground breaking journalism. I thought the desired outcome for the Sixers was to do a deal that makes NO sense in the short and long term for both sides. Boy was I wrong
