The Locked on Nets get into the weekend by taking a look at some recent Nets rumors around this upcoming draft. According to Erik Slater of Clutchpoints, Sean Marks and company could be looking to package picks #21 and #22 and move up in this year’s draft. They discuss who Brooklyn could be targeting with this kind of potential move. Would it be someone like Anthony Black? Cason Wallace? Nick Smith Jr or Kobe Bufkin? Or maybe even a center like Derek Lively.
And then there is the additional rumor that Nets are fielding offers for Royce O’Neale and Dorian Finney-Smith leading into the draft as well. There could be a lot of moving parts with this team over the next week or so.

Hello everyone we are entering a busy week with draft day quickly approaching. Based on reports the draft picks after Victor Wembenyana could all be up for grabs….
In Brooklyn situation seeing all this chaos could allow them to make strategic moves to acquire some good talent via trade or the draft…
Looking at the news of Sean Marks possibly packaging the 21st and 22nd picks in a trade to move up the draft order, he probably has a few blue chip players in mind.
Also Brooklyn could acquire talent along with the picks.
Given Royce o Neale and Dorian Finney Smith are coming up in trade rumors Brooklyn has two possible routes with this strategy….
One route is trading with the Lakers. Brooklyn could offer Royce o Neale and the 21st and 22nd picks for Mo Bamba and the 17th pick. Brooklyn gets a young backup center in Mo Bamba while moving up in the draft.
Another big trade is with the Dallas Mavs. Brooklyn could take a big swing offering Royce o Neale Dorian Finney Smith Patty Mills and the 21st pick to the Mavs for Josh Green Javale Magee and the 10th pick in the draft.
Going this route Brooklyn gets the 10th pick which gives them a real big shot of getting a blue chip player they want ( Bilal C. Rayan Rupert Leonard Miller etc.) Also they acquire josh green who is another prospect with potential to go to another level. Lastly they get a veteran center with championship experience in Javale Magee who could serve as a good mentor to Claxton and Sharpe..
Those are the two teams Brooklyn should consider doing business with if they try to trade up the draft…

Dorian Finney Smith should only be traded if Brooklyn tries to get around the 10-13 draft pick route. But given his defense and grit he has a likelier chance to stay in Brooklyn.
Royce o Neale meanwhile had a career year and his value is very high and given he's on a expiring contract Brooklyn might try to extract a top first round draft pick or move up the draft order….
