@New Orleans Pelicans

The ESPN+ proposed trades for Zion are all dog shit. A mean hot pile of steaming poop.

I’ll list them, then give my always welcomed commentary!

[**Charlotte Hornets**](https://www.espn.com/nba/team/_/name/cha/charlotte-hornets) **get:** Williamson, Bucks’ 2025 first-round pick (if 1-4)

**New Orleans Pelicans get:** [Gordon Hayward](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/4249/gordon-hayward), No. 2 pick

That’s essentially Zion for Hayward and Scoot. Fuck that, throw in Bridges instead of Hayward if the cap is not an issue. I’d want another pick as well.

[**Portland Trail Blazers**](https://www.espn.com/nba/team/_/name/por/portland-trail-blazers) **get:** Williamson

**New Orleans Pelicans get:** No. 3 pick, [Patty Mills](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/4004/patty-mills), [Royce O’Neale](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/2583632/royce-oneale) and [Dorian Finney-Smith](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/2578185/dorian-finney-smith)

[**Brooklyn Nets**](https://www.espn.com/nba/team/_/name/bkn/brooklyn-nets) **get**: [Anfernee Simons](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/4351851/anfernee-simons) and [Keon Johnson](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/4432192/keon-johnson)

Fuck the Nets. I’d want Simons in the deal, who has value if moved thereafter. Getting the poo poo platter with Scoot isn’t worth it.

[**Detroit Pistons**](https://www.espn.com/nba/team/_/name/det/detroit-pistons) **get:** Williamson

**New Orleans Pelicans get:** No. 2 overall pick in 2023 draft, [Bojan Bogdanovic](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/3593/bojan-bogdanovic), [Isaiah Stewart](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/4432810/isaiah-stewart)

**Charlotte Hornets get:** No. 5 and 14

Another loser. I like Bojan, but Duren would help the team move forward with size and depth, and he was the younger player in league last year. Shit, team should get 5th pick as well.

[**tlanta Hawks**](https://www.espn.com/nba/team/_/name/atl/atlanta-hawks) **get:** Williamson, [Jaxson Hayes](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/4397077/jaxson-hayes)

**New Orleans Pelicans get:** [John Collins](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/3908845/john-collins), [Onyeka Okongwu](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/4431680/onyeka-okongwu), 2023 first-round pick, 2024 first-round pick (from SAC)

Not Hayes! This one isn’t bad, but you’re not getting Scoot. And those picks aren’t franchise altering. Collins could step in and play PF and Okongwu would start at center, but those guys haven’t won shit in Atlanta other than 2 years ago. Atlanta is dying to get off of Collins’ contract. Throw in more picks and Griffin Jr. at the very least.

## Zion and the Beard trade places

[**Philadelphia 76ers**](https://www.espn.com/nba/team/_/name/phi/philadelphia-76ers) **get:** Williamson ($33M this year), [Larry Nance Jr](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/2580365/larry-nance-jr). ($10M this year), [Garrett Temple](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/4023/garrett-temple) ($5M), [Trey Murphy III](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/4397688/trey-murphy-iii) ($3M)

**New Orleans Pelicans get:** [James Harden](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/3992/james-harden) (currently $33M before opt out; Harden must agree to sign-and-trade), [P.J. Tucker](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/3033/pj-tucker) ($10.5M), [Mac McClung](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/4397071/mac-mcclung) (qualifying offer), two 2024 second-round picks (76ers’ and Knicks’ picks)

Wait, this is perfect and I stopped at Mac McClung. Any deal involving Mac is solid. He would finally get the Slam Dunk crown that JR Smith and Birdman couldn’t get a decade ago.

  1. I thought you were just exaggerating

Nah this is malpractice and bait, no way in hell are those hawks and Harden deals real even in someone’s imagination 😭😭

  2. iamStanhousen

I wouldn’t worry about it man. We wouldn’t do any of these for Zion. They’re all highway robbery.

The trades where we don’t get scoot are an absolute waste of time, and James Harden can stay the hell away from our team, especially as we’d have to give up trey (who at this point is as valuable as harden inmo).

The only one I don’t mind and that’s if you HAVE to (emphasis on the have before people react and downvote) trade Zion is the Portland, and Nets deal (out of the ones given). I know you poo poo’d it but it actually wouldn’t be a bad deal and I think you’re underestimating some of the players we’d get.

Patty mills could be moved for future assets (teams always want vet shooting) as we don’t need another point guard, but DFS is a really good 3 and D guy who was a crucial part of the mavs defence during their western conference finals run and same with Royce, both guy are good shooters which this team sorely needs.

Also simons is not that good, he’s an undersized guard who plays little defence, he’s essentially cj but with so much less experience, I think you’re overvaluing how much we could trade him for.

oh yeah and you get scoot.

The first trade I don’t see a problem with at all. The rest are pretty bad tho

Pistons Hornets deal actually isn’t bad. I don’t want to trade Zion, but realistically that’s what a trade for #2 pick in a draft with a really good top 3 would look like.

Blazers deal is fine too. Simmons for DFS makes sense if drafting Scoot.

    Hawks deal is absolute trash.

Harden deal looks like someone came up with at 5am after partying with Harden

The first one is probably about as good as the Pelicans can get for Zion if they actually wanted to move him right now. Every other team would keep hounding on how he’s only good to play 20-30 games a year, so where’s the value in trading for him. It’s also why I think there’s no shot he actually gets traded this offseason unless he is the one that forces his way out.

If he starts playing 65+ games a year, he’s literally untradeable based on how good he is when he actually plays.

  7. Pelicans_Got_Next

Atlanta one was the worst one to me

  8. black_trillionaire

It’s to distract us from Moriah Mills. The PR going crazy

  9. ValhallaPDX

There is no way portland is trading the #3 and Simons for Zion.

  10. Complete-Shopping-61

If we get Bridges (if he is still who he was) + 2nd pick for Zion, I will want Mark Williams instead of a pick
