Signing harden to a 2 year deal is the most realistic middle ground result for all parties involved.

The slop fiend in me wants to see what the other options would be tho

I think if Houston picks Whitmore on Thursday it’s gonna be pretty chaotic, but if they pick Amen (or like… scoot if he inexplicably fell) we’d be pretty sure he’s coming back to Philly

If Harden leaves with no sign and trade, and the Sixers use a FRP to shed Tobias’ contract, the payroll will be at 90m, with 44m to spend on free agents, then sign our own free agents using Bird rights.

More likely, the Sixers trade Tobias and a FRP to a team for a cheaper, better fitting player in return (a la Al Horford/Danny Green, Josh Richardson/Seth Curry). Need a deadlier shooter, but who also can defend, rebound. Assuming that player makes 20m, we’d have 20m to spend (plus Bird rights on Bball).

Indiana, a non-free agent destination, is desperate for a foward like Tobias.

Farewell, Shake. I wish Doc would’ve utilized you better.

None of those tricks will make us contenders unless it’s a star

Jake is really well connected in general and of course got his start here in Philly, but for what it’s worth he was waaaaay off of the Simmons / harden trade

What is this man’s definition of “the sky falling”? Because getting noticeably worse year over year after that embarrassing playoff exit is a pretty fucking disastrous outcome if you ask me.

Just hope that whatever happens with Harden happens at the start of FA and this doesn’t drag out to the point where those options the Sixers have up their sleeves are no longer available options.

We sent Matisse for McDaniels, I’ll be really annoyed if he walks cus he wasn’t free. Tisse is neither here nor there but I hate these mid season trades that end up just leaving

I’ve been saying this the whole time. Nba nephews hate to hear it haha.

Harden coming back on a team friendly deal is the least risky way to stay a contender BUT that’s definitely not the only way.

I think things are even a bit better than I was originally hoping as well because of the new CBA.
expiring contracts has gained some value & big contracts have lost some value. So tobi is very tradeable all of a sudden & taking a swing on say beal (or whoever) is much more possible, albeit risky.

Anyone could’ve “reported” this… this has literally no facts or new info… morey essentially said this word for word in the press conference…
