I would too as a third option – he’s everything you’d want defensively that Randle isn’t
I don’t think this is as crazy a take as some people are saying, because while Julius puts up huge numbers, he has provided nothing in terms of playoff success. AG was the star player of that Orlando team a while ago, but he eventually found himself a complimentary role which resulted in better basketball.
Julius is almost definitely better but I wish he would follow AGs lead and allow himself to fit into a role that suits him

I mean Randle is clearly the more talented player, but I think there are plenty of teams who would have more use for Gordon than Randle. Almost every team in the league can use a hyper versatile role player like AG, Randle is much more difficult to fit into a lineup, as talented as he is.
This is recency bias. Also situations are situational. Julius could do a lot of what ag is doing and more if he were playing next to joker and Aaron Gordon on the Knicks is not scratching the surface of what randle is doing offensively. Randle is one of the best iso scorers in the nba

I think that take is more than adequate.
Good thing this moron isn’t in the FO. What a horrible take. Gordon was the 3rd-4th option on a championship team that greatly benefitted from having an MVP like jokic find him for easy cuts all day. He did a great job on defense throughout and hit timely shots, but he absolutely cannot carry a team as the 1 or 2 option.

Oak reps the cavs now, he’s hated the Knicks for years, why do we care about him
Aaron Gordon was not good on the Magic playing as the first option. What elevated his career is playing with Jokic the best player in the nba. Not sure why is this a comparison they’re in completely different situations and Randle has been better for awhile. To see Knicks fans in that space even entertain it is just dumb.
I think that this is poorly stated by Oak, but perhaps the underlying message may be helpful…if Randle wants to take it to the next level in terms of helping the team win, he has to add the little things on D that bring more winning – such as taking charges.
