Today we’re going to be talking about the Denver Nuggets 2023 playoff run after 2 consecutive seasons of injuries and early playoff exists in 2021 and 2022. Jamal Murray suffered a torn ACL in April of 2021 that would sideline him for over a year, and Michael Porter Jr would suffer a season ending back injury. All while Nikola Jokic would end up winning back to back MVP awards. Which began to produce all types of discourse about whether or not he was actually deserving of them, and whether or not MVP voters had a different agenda in mind. People couldn’t get behind the idea that the Denver Nuggets could be a championship contender with the entire roster back and healthy. But with Murray and Porter Jr set to return in the 2022-23 NBA season, it was time for the Nuggets to prove everyone wrong. Analysts, hardcore fans, and reporters be damned, Denver Nuggets has been showing the media wrong every single match-up!
First round where they faced against KAT, ANT, and 3-time DPOY Rudy Gobert who got cooked in 5. People thought the the Timberwolves of all team would win this round.
Second round, they believed that the Suns would win in 6 but the opposite is true. Devin Booker and Kevin Durant got their asses out in 6 with a blow-out.
WCF, LeBron James and Anthony Davis along with Rui, D’lo, AR, and more. This is the match-up that ESPN really showing their bias.
First game loss, they thought that Rui would be the Joker stopper, but in the next two games, instead of saying that the Nuggets are dominating, they narrating how the Lakers would make a 3-0 deficit. After the sweep, ESPN begrudgingly compliments Nuggets’ play style.
But the the final series against the Miami Heat is where I don’t know what ESPN is smoking anymore.
They thought that the Heat would beat the Nuggets and become the best underdog team.
Nuggets will make them change the narrative every single game they won.
And now they said that this is the easiest run for the Nuggets? Yeah right. They will do anything but acknowledge Nuggets’ games. But us fans would remember this and show our grandchildren of how this team is the greatest this year of all time.
We see every team for new rule roster that nba implemented. There no superteam anymore even lebron gonna cry alone at corner. That mean every team will get championship if the build is right

The media has the same problem with the Nuggets that they had with the Spurs. They're a very fundamentally sound team but not flashy. People say they can't stand flexing ( Steph Curry's no look 3s ,Ja Morant's griddy, Memphis Grizzlies tunnel dancing etc,etc) but when we have teams and players ( Jokic and Denver, Giannis and Milwaukee) that just so-call " play great basketball " it's boring lol!

There are many analysts (and fans) who said the Nuggets were significant underdogs against the Suns, Lakers, and Heat who now are saying the Nuggets had the easiest path to a championship. 2) Media companies need to apease the fan base that supports the media.
Catering to the New York and L.A. fan bases, brings in sponsorships, viewing numbers and other aspects to broadcasting that media entities need/want.
The little engine that could, did not fulfil any of the broadcast media financial needs.
3) A fact that has gotten very little media time, is that the owner has won 3 chips in the past 18 months with his 3 franchises.
Denver is a small foot print in the terms of media buy and league exposure, so what would have be page 1 news, is primarily scimmed over.
4) EVERY <— champion has done so with an asterix on thier season.
I.e. L.A. "won in the Bubble"
Fans forget that a lot of championship runs, were more due to opponent injuries than great play.
I.e. Kyrie and Kevin Love don't get hurt, Warriors aren't a dyansty, and lebron's legacy is different
These "factors" occur in life, but no body ultimately remembers who came second, or that the three previous series involved injury plagued teams.
Miami ending up in the finals is a cinderella story as well as a testment to the health of their team.

The problem is that too many fans and too many so called analysts are in thrall to the NBA video games.
They do not appreciate real basketball, that is a team game, but want to see the "Superstar".
To see the spectacular "Dunk" or the 3pt shot from downtown.
The battle in paint had been resigned to history. But Jokic has brought back the importance of having someone who can dominate in that area. It opens the gane so much more, allows other players to have a greater influence on the game. The Nuggets players from the starting 5 to those coming off bench that they are not just bit players. The Nuggets pissed off the powers that be by proving, once again that basketball is a team sport. They don't like that because it makes them have promote and evaluate the game from a team point of view, and this in turn shows up their ignorance of the game!

I had no idea how good Joker and the Nuggets were. The NBA did a piss-poor job promoting him and the team. Denver should have been a featured team every week. They will be from now on.

It's funny how they kept mentioning play-in, when in reality, had there been no play-in the 7th and 8th seed in the West would still be the Lakers and Wolves respectively and the Heat finished the season 7th, dropped to 8th after the play-in. So even in terms of old NBA playoff standards, those teams were still legit playoff teams come the end of the regular season. So discrediting the Nuggs after they won, when everyone doubted them throughout the playoffs is weak sauce. But that is to be expected from sports media and especially WOKESPN.
Jamal Murray's tore his ACL in his left knee with an large step to the left and immediate return to his old direction. This happens at high speed, ie high momentum. The human knee is not build for this motion. If he would have played less aggressive (= less athletic) this could have been avoided. Jokic does not take this risks and is thus hated by same NBA fans and some of the media for this. I think this is smart. When you are injured you can't win games (or even championships).

This was indeed a wierd playoffs. I didn't see the Nuggets winning the title in a million years despite them having the number 1 seed(been watching the league long enough to have seen plenty of number 1 seeds choke). I reckoned the Bucks would do the business…but…yeah. Took the Nuggets sweeping the Lakers to make me a believer because despite Spoelstra's best efforts, this is not a vintage Heat team.
Dynasty? Too early to tell. I like this Nuggets team better than some championship-winning teams I've seen over the years(*cough* '04 PIstons) but then again…dynasties seem to be hard to build nowadays.
