To be "GREAT"" Pascal Siakam would need to stop missing so many end of qrt iso clutch plays or buzzer beaters, he's made very very VERY few clutch shots in his career so far toward the end of the game and he's pushing 30.

Some American YouTuber posted some nonsense about Pascal wants to be traded to the clippers to join Kawhi. That makes no sense as the clippers have no real assets and their key players are falling apart. It’s getting ridiculous and none of these so called trades even benefit us who do even replace him with at that position you don’t just bring a bunch of guards in a deal.

Pascal is not going anywhere he is a Raptor for life
Pascal is a great player, however if we are rebuilding how does he fit that timeline? Does he want to be part of that? Let's say we are retooling, I think we need minimum 3 legit shooter's (above 40%) who can defend at high level to complete in the playoffs. When we won the chip, I believe all the players on the floor can shoot the 3 ball. If Fred were to leave, I am not sure who can fill that void, maybe the rookie. Do we think, Pascal wants to stick around after that? There is lot in play, depending on which route Masai wants to take this team forward. We have leverage until this summer and then teams will not be willing to give us nothing. I think by July we will know the direction

I personally think Pascal has had his time to show he’s the number 1 and he just doesn’t have the “IT” factor no matter what we do or say. I’m changing my tone on straight up trading him but I definitely think it’s time to give scottie the ball and the opportunity to let him start the offence and be the decision maker. Scottie has “IT” and we all see it. So yes I’m definitely with keeping someone around for when it’s not going great he has someone to still guide him. However I think it’s time for pascal to be the co star and not the main character anymore
can we talk about the fact there are players who are hyped in the media and are considered superstars of the league despite having never made it out the 1st or 2nd round. yet here in raptors land we need to see pascal go and win finals mvp to say he's a superstar. which is it? joel embiid cannot be a superstar if the qualifications are playoff success. in my opinion superstardom is not a team achievement. it is individual. it's being able to go and produce with the best in the league. I dunno. pascal is having the best years of his career smack dab in his prime and we find ways to underrate him today still. as frustrating as last season was to watch, it always gave me joy to see pascal give a shit in all the games he played in.
These young kids don't realize the mental side of life let alone basketball. Pascal started the season in November. Worked his way back into form and ended up all NBA. That is mental strength that can't be matched by many
Players compete against players, they don't compete against coaches. Coaches can only teach so much. To be the best, you have to be training with the best. No coach can do what Pascal does in the gym. It's like what they say, those who can't do, teach. Pascal can do, he pushes his teammates to his pace, he sets a standard, no one else on the team can set the same level of standard Pascal sets. You ain't being a CEO with just the crap you learn in school, you learn the skills and experience working with the best at the highest level. Some fans think players only get good playing in 48 minute games. Half the progress is offline.

Who gonna teach Pascal to be Great? Maybe Scottie can. Pascal is not a number one although he is our number one and being paid like a number one. Over paid, over employed, we need to trade him while his stock is high. Great players dont fold under pressure. They rise to the occasion. Screw the stats, give me a player that connects on winning plays when the game is tight and winning is on the line.
I'm glad you mentioned that you just can't bring anybody in and think it's going to work as a veteran to teach Scotty. A lot of people don't realize there has to be a respect. And respect not given its it's something you earn. Scotty as a rookie watch Pascal work hard go to injury and make his way back into being an All-Star. That is something that will be respected. That is what we need and that is what Scotty needs.
